for larger pic's see: www.yachtshots.us/island-packet-29.html New 30 HP Yanmar engine and fuel tank installed in 2013 Illusions is the perfect boat to single-hand, but has plenty of room for two. She is the largest 29 ft boat you will ever set foot on. The Island Packet is roomy, spacious, comfortable and built for ocean sailing conditions. A new 30 hp Yanmar engine was installed in 2013 and has only 290 hours on it. A new fuel tank was installed at the same time. This is a beautiful boat to take on that extended cruise that you have always dreamed of. She has taken me to the Bahamas six times and on a five year cruise through the Eastern Caribbean. With the wind generator, solar panel and five batteries in the house bank, you can anchor in that deserted anchorage for as long as you want without worrying about running the engine to charge the batteries. 46' Whitby 42
1980 Deltaville Virginia 46 Whitby 42

Description: Whitby Boatworks built about 250 Whitby 42 ketches and 2 Whitby 42 single masted cutters. One of the two single-masted cutters sailed the Puget Sound for many years, regularly outsailing her ketch-rigged sisters. The other single-masted cutter is Malabar. All Whitbys were built to order and when we contracted for Malabar in 1980, we insisted on a single-masted vessel because we wanted superior sailing qualities. By ordering Malabar as a single-masted cutter, we eliminated the perfunctory mizzen, along with the windage, deck clutter of its standing rigging and, especially, the serious problem of the weather helm. Instead, we obtained a larger, more efficient, more powerful main (without increasing mast height or raising the CE) and achieved our goal: a dramatically better performer. We sold Malabar in 1983 because the construction of an aluminum 53-footer which we had ordered from Kanter Yachts was nearing completion. Some years later, we had sold our 53-footer and were looking for a boat more easily managed by a couple. We of course looked at Whitbys and, as Malabar had turned up on the market at that time, we had the opportunity to reacquire her. We were of course familiar with the advertised qualities of the breed: excellent interior accommodations; excellent galley; excellent engine room and tankage; excellent cockpit design, adequate sailing performance for a cruising boat (as a ketch of course). Because of the superior sailing qualities of the single-masted cutter, and because of the attractiveness of her accommodations (full teak interior and cabin soles, rounded doors, etc), Malabar was the best representative of the Whitby 42 and we were happy to be able to reacquire her. We had specific requirements for the ideal 40 to 45 foot cruising boat: sailing performance, safety, comfort, energy management, ground tackle, fuel management, dinghy handling, etc. Malabar was the ideal boat to serve as a platform upon which to incorporate the improvements we required.

41' Islander Bill Lapworth design Islander 44 41
1999 Alameda California 41 Islander Bill Lapworth design Islander 44 41

This Islander 41 (Islander 44) is a fast and balanced sailing vessel built by Islander yachts . The Hull was laid up in 1979 but not fully commissioned / launched until 1999, thus the interior is more modern in design, yet with the sturdiness , safety and sea worthiness of a timeless classic. So in essence this is a new boat, sold for an older boat price. Wood side planking is molded into the hull in the same style as the traditional Hans Chistian yachts. At 40' , this yacht at this price, in immaculate condition and care is a great value. This is a fast capable ocean going sailboat, with spoon bow for cutting through heavy seas. The boat is very accustomed to trips around the Farallones, down the coast to San Diego, etc. The Sailing Master of the Annapolis Sailing School uses his Islander ( a sister ship to this one) to take his students off shore for heavy weather training , as his boat of choice during hurricane season. All new standing rigging in 2013, new interior / remodel in 2013, new electronics package in 2013, 2 coats of Micron 66 bottom paint in 2014, modern diesel ( Perkins 4-108) motor with low hours 337 . Boat has been waxed 2x per year and the wood work is pristine. I have also listed the boat with Enterprise Yachts and Don Wilson, who originally sold these boats when Islander Yachts was still in operation. His cell number is 925-212-8940 for questions on the boat.

40' Valiant 40
1976 Eliot Maine 40 Valiant 40

The Valiant 40’ has perhaps influenced modern blue water cruiser design more than any other boat. Prior to the Valiant 40’, cruising sailboats was synonymous with big heavy and slow. The genius that designer Bob Perry brought in the Valiant 40’ was to put a what was then a modern IOR racing shape under the waterline and match it with a cruising hull above. He built this concept into a boat with the look of a Scandinavian double ender and in doing so helped further the American love for traditional double enders that exists to this day. In 1997 the Valiant 40’ was inducted into the “American Sailboat Hall of Fame”. Libertas is an ocean going passagemaker with great amenities such as freezer, refrigerator, solar power, oven, heater, hot/cold pressure water, composting head and radar/gps overlay and a Windlass. Complete dishes, utensils, pots and pans, loads of spares for extended cruising. Inflatable RIB (fair condition) with 8 hp 4-stroke Tohatsu (good condition).

41.0' Sigma 41

The Sigma 41 is built to Lloyd's Register of Shipping specifications and due to her quality engineering and design is a very popular European yacht. This masthead rigged cruiser/racer was designed by David Thomas and has garnered a reputation for a fast passage maker and very successful club racer. "Vixen" is unique among Sigma 41s since she is the only Sigma to be retrofitted with a centerboard. Drawing slightly less than 5 feet makes "Vixen" ideal for the Gulf waters of Florida yet, with the centerboard deployed, her upwind performance is stellar. "Vixen" has been continually upgraded by her owners and is in excellent condition. She has earned numerous local "Boat of the Year" awards and yet has the amenities of a comfortable cruiser featuring a 6kw generator, heat and air and in-motion satellite TV. Recent Awlgrip and laminate sails just start the list of upgrades.

38' Robertson and Caine Leopard
2000 Boynton Beach Florida 38 Robertson and Caine Leopard

www.eastof95.com/cat/ The Leopard 38 is the one of those rare "owners cat". The 38 handles easily, has a large cockpit and a well appointed saloon and cabins. This is the three double cabin version with a master suite occupying the starboard hull and the two cabins in the port hull share heads and showers. The galley is up in the saloon. The deck layout is clear and the mainsheet traveller runs on an arch over the transom giving unimpeded access to the water via a wide aft bathing platform. The transom arch also serves to support the aft end of the bimini and to carry the dinghy. Deep louvre steps shade the forward sloping saloon windows while providing an easy and secure walkway to the saloon roof. The Leopard 38 is a competent performer under sail and power. As a privately owned yacht, this vessel has received significant upgrades and ongoing scheduled routine maintenance on her that truly distinguish her from many other Leopards out there. We have invested heavily in her upgrades since acquiring her. Comparison should be made between this and similar Leopards coming out of charter service, you often need to get the "island rework" out of her. This yacht is blue water ready – just sail her away as she has been upgraded and maintained for safe and comfortable extended cruising. This 2000 ROBERTSON and CAINE Leopard 38 comes with an owners three cabin layout, which makes for a very comfortable cruising yacht. Plenty of storage and space for upgrades, such as a generator.

Daydreamer is easily one of the best maintained and equipped examples of this popular sailboat that you will find. She is an easy boat to sail and will take you wherever you want to go. Her layout and features make her an ideal coastal cruiser. With wide hatches, amble cabin and seating above and below deck, she is a very comfortable boat for day sailing, weekends or even longer! She is a very easy to handle, however she has all the bells and whistles experienced sailors demand. Her spacious cabin makes for a great place to get out of the sun, prepare lunch while under way, or spend the night in places that only a boat can take you. Her fourth (current) owners are experienced sailors who have taken excellent care of her for the past 5 years. During that time they have upgraded or added sails, a solar panel, roller furling, instrument panels including a wind system, an improved rudder and rigging changes to enhance performance and safety. She is ready to sail right now, so you can start enjoying her many attributes immediately! More pictures and videos of the Daydreamer in her element

31' Pacific Seacraft 31
Annapolis Maryland 31 Pacific Seacraft 31

This is an opportunity to acquire a fine, restored 1990 Pacific Seacraft 31 at the best price in the United States. I'm a serial boat restorer and, somewhat to my surprise, I ran out of steam on this one. She’s been for sale with a broker long enough for me to recognize the market realities. I have not renewed my contract with the broker and I’ve drastically lowered the price. (She was listed here last year for $67,500.) She was built as a sloop, but the prior owner had an inner forestay installed. If you can find a better value in a used Pacific Seacraft 31, buy her instead of mine. The good: I spent close to $15,000 on parts and gear and hundreds of hours of my time in the past two years (see the list of new gear below). The exterior teak has been mostly cleaned up and has five coats of Cetol. The interior teak has been cleaned and varnished. I wet sanded, compounded, polished and waxed the hull; it looks close to new. The cabin sole was professionally refinished. I’m pretty good at restoring boats; you can read about the autopilot control pod I built in Good Old Boat, May/June 2012. The bad: She needs new upholstery, but she'll obviously sail fine as is. The exterior grab rails need refinishing. The domestic hot water is connected to shore power only; it needs to be reconnected to the engine (the hoses are there, but I can't guarantee that they don't leak). The headliner was discolored and would be a royal pain to replace. I painted it with vinyl paint and I think she looks great now; others may disagree. The teak door to the head was damaged by the prior owner and repaired with epoxy. That means that I couldn’t take it apart and repair it properly. So I did the best I could and then painted it. Doesn’t bother me, but may bother you. The dodger skin is green and does not match the Captain Navy used on the newer canvas. I never got around to spending the time on the deck to make it look as good as the hull. Please call if you are interested; the email link does not work.

sweet sailing classic pocket cruiser designed by Carl Alberg. Often referred to as the "triton's little sister" for good reason. Stable, surprisingly quick, simple to live with. Enough varnished mahogany to give great character. Our boat has been in fresh water her whole life and is well maintained, especially given that she lives under a cotton tarp 7 months of the year. I have owned last 30 years (gulp). Outboard is completely reliable and gives plenty of thrust. i would describe the accommodations and sailing experience as like a "tent camper" or classic Airstream more than a floating condo or motor home. Always simple, always comfortable, very elemental.

The CS 33 is a "performance cruiser" designed by Raymond Wall, of Camper and Nicholson fame, and built to high quality standards by Canadian Sailcraft in Canada. She has a 26'4" waterline, a 10'8" beam, displaces 10,000 lbs., and has 4,300 lbs. of led in a 5'9" fin keel. The CS 33 carries 503 sq. ft. of working sail giving her a sail-area-to-displacement ratio of 17.4, and a ballast-to-displacement ratio of 43%. This, plus her hull design, makes the CS 33 very stable, and easy to handle in almost any sea or weather condition. The interior of the CS 33 has approximately 6'2" of standing headroom in the salon area, and can accommodate five adults with two sleeping on a 6'6" Tempur-Pedic mattress in the V-berth, one sleeping on the port settee, and two sleeping on the starboard double settee. All interior cushions are covered in Sunbrella fabric (2014), and there is an enclosed head aft of the V-berth with a functional U-shaped galley to port of the companionway, and a large navigation station directly to starboard. The CS 33 was constructed with a solid, hand laid-up hull with fiberglass box-beam floor members supporting the keel-stepped mast. The hull-to-deck joint is through-bolted via an anodized aluminum toerail, and all bulkheads are fiberglassed to the hull. This boat is very easy to sail single or double handed. It is clean and ready to go cruising.

26' Hake Seaward seaward 26
1996 Mordecai Boat Basin Beach Haven New Jersey 26 Hake Seaward seaward 26

Nick Hake, designer and builder of the Seaward boats, likes shoal drafted sailboats. He always said his boats would blow the doors off a J/24 in 3 feet of water. His boats are all about gunk-holing where you can glide across the flats and anchor in shallow water where most sailboats can’t go. The Seaward 26 is by far the most popular of all his designs. For a trailer-able boat, she has a big boat look and feel. Traditional lines make her physical appeal timeless. She has generous bulwarks forward, with hawse holes for the dock lines and a bow roller on a sprit forward. Her hull shape offers good form stability with her subtle tumblehome which also contributes to interior space and comfort. The cockpit is self- bailing with wheel steering. 25' Quorning-Nye Yachts Dragonfly 25
1985 Bellingham Washington 25 Quorning-Nye Yachts Dragonfly 25

The Dragonfly 25 is a lightweight, fast racer/daysailer/camp cruiser. The design is from Quorning Boats in Denmark and gained broad recognition by winning the Round Great Britain race on corrected time in 1985. This boat was built in 1985 and has benefitted from many recent upgrades and repairs. New windows and foredeck hatch glass, new paint on amas, new bottom paint (e-paint EP-2000), most running rigging is new. 6HP Mercury 4-stroke outboard has new carb, water pump and pushes the boat at 6 knots. Comes with 9 1/2 foot hypalon Achilles inflatable. Graphics are in 3M reflective tape. Furling jib, older full-batten main with 2 reefpoints. Rotating mast. Bunks for 4 people. Raymarine ST40 speedo and depthsounder, ST 1000 tillerpilot. Cushions are kept in heated room at home and were only placed on the boat for picture-taking (no musty smells). Fast, fun boat has been with the family for 5 years but has been outgrown. This is a great daysailer or platform for racing. We've seen 16 knots on her and the prior owner hit over 20. Boat is demountable and can be carried on a factory trailer (included) wherever you wish to take her. Interested in a partial trade for a larger performance beach cat (F18, 6.0, Hobie 21, etc.)

33' 7' Ontario Yachts Viking 33
1973 Westport Massachusetts 33' 7 Ontario Yachts Viking 33

I've been updating my Viking 33 over the last 3-4 years. She is a fast, stiff and fun boat. She moves along nicely in light air and loves a nice breeze in the 20s! She points like nobody's business. She is great weekender or club racer. You'll give anyone a run for their money! I found this description of the boat on line. "...the Viking 33 still has to rate as one of the better looking boats on the water. It has sleek lines and a graceful bow. It may be just a touch narrower than the boats that were built in the 1980s, but it still has the appearance of a contemporary yacht. Like the Ontario 32, the Viking was also designed by C&C and built by Ontario Yachts. Unlike the Ontario 32, this boat was designed with racing in mind. It has a very deep keel and a ballast to displacement ratio of over 50%. This boat was built in the 1970's, so most will come equipped with an Atomic 4 gasoline inboard engine..." by Michael McGoldrick. She is a little too small for the type of cruising we want to do and we don't race. So, we want to upgrade to a larger more cruise ready boat. I get lots of compliments on her. This really is a beautiful looking boat. Totally interested in trades if you are thinking of downsizing from your cruising boat. I have nearly twice the asking price invested here. Our plan was to keep this boat a long, long time but sadly, she just isn't the right boat for what we want to do. We want to spend more time aboard and we just need a bigger head and a stand up shower and maybe a walk through transom. Anyway, the next owner is going to get a great, fast, beautiful sailing boat!

Since I live in Oregon and work in Utah it has become clear to me that I would be better off having a boat in Oregon and/or Washington. That is the reason I have put the boat on the market at a rock bottom price. If the new buyer puts in $5,000 to $7,000 tops they will have a boat that compares very well with those in the $29,000 and up price range. Believe me when I say that the great Yanmar 44 HP engine on my boat is what separates my boat from the others that are currently for sale. 46' Bruce Roberts Spray
1995 Sausalito California 46 Bruce Roberts Spray

The boat was built by me and is a replica of Joshua Slocum’s Boston Spray. It’s 46’ l.o.a. I was a structural draftsman for 40 years and worked for an architectural and engineering firm for 34 years. The hull is fiberglass, 7 layers of woven roving over 7 layers of 1-1/2 oz. mat separately on C-flex planking which was used as the mold. The plans called for 6 layers of each, but I added 1 more. The keel and bottom are over 1” thick. The deck and cabin are 1/2” plywood with two layers of 1-1/2 oz. fiberglass mat over. Each interior bulkhead is constructed with two layers of 1/2” strand board glued and screwed together and 1/8” oak veneer glued on each side. There is 12 volt DC and 110 volt AC electricity inside, along with fresh water dockside and 12 volt pressure activated pump away from the dock. The boat was painted again in July 2010 (the bottom with bottom paint and the sides with Awlgrip). The boat is very spacious inside and has plenty of storage. It would be comfortable as a live aboard for 1 or 2 people. It took me 19 years to build and we’ve had her in the water for 20 years at various marinas in Northern California. The slip in Sausalito, CA comes with the boat if qualified per the yacht harbor. The reason I’m selling her is my age and health issues.

41' Alan Gurney center cockpit-Hinkley lines center cockpit sloop
1971 Sag Harbor NY Hamptons New York 41 Alan Gurney center cockpit-Hinkley lines center cockpit sloop

A PARTNERSHIP ON THIS BOAT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Pyewacket is a completely refitted Alan Gurney designed center cockpit sloop with classic Hinkley styling and quality. She has been rewired, repowered, rerigged, and refinished. She is fast, has major upgrades throughout and in very good condition. She is solid through heavy seas yet very fast. One of her best features is her huge cockpit that seats 8 very comfortably while under sail. She also has an integrated teak swim platform that extends her waterline length to 43 ft. This is a great feature downwind. She will reach 12 knots at beam reach with her new sails or while flying the spinnaker downwind. She has 3 main cabins, 2 heads, 3 berths, a pilot berth, huge owners cabin with head. She also has a brand new custom winter cover that will save you thousands in winter storage fees. She is a true head turner and a very competitive boat to race. She is often greeted with lots compliments whenever she comes to port. We are open to a share purchase with another owner that is willing to care for her the way we have over the years. We will miss her when she sells. We have other obligations that keep us from taking her to the far away places we used to sail to with friends and family. Pyewacket is truly is a boat anyone would be proud to own and sail. contact via email pyewacketsloop@yahoo.com

56' Bill Trip Classic Yawl
1963 Grenada Outside United States 56 Bill Trip Classic Yawl

OFFERS INVITED FOR A QUICK SALE. Apollonia is a very beautiful classic yawl with gracious lines guaranteed to turn heads wherever she is moored. She has recently competed in a number of Classic regattas with class wins in both Antigua and Grenada. Built by John De Dood in Germany in 1963 to a design by Bill Tripp the distinguished 1960’s American yacht designer who is remembered for drawing very pretty boats that sailed better than their ratings would suggest. Originally named Wappen Von Bremen she was built as one of three ‘one-design’ sister ships commissioned by sailing clubs in Hamburg and Bremen and completed in a number of Atlantic races. She is built of double planked mahogany over cedar on oak frames with manganese bronze fastenings, teak soles on oak floors, teak laid decks over laminated marine plywood, and has an exquisitely fitted mahogany interior. Her accommodation down below provides five berths in two forward cabins with a single head forward and a spacious saloon and galley. Regrettably her owner passed away two years ago since when she has been somewhat neglected, and Apollonia is now seriously for sale at a fraction of the cost of the restoration works already undertaken. She represents a wonderful opportunity for a new owner who is willing to invest a little time and effort to bring her back to her former glory and cruise the Caribbean islands and beyond in a timeless elegant yacht also eligible to enter the exclusive Classic Regatta circuit. Apollonia is currently lying in Grenada. Please contact me for further details of the specification, the restoration, and a schedule of her current condition. A full set of recent photos are available on request. OFFERS INVITED AROUND $150,000

AMF/Paceship - PY26 - 1977 LOA: 26.4 BEAM 9.6 DRAFT 3.6 HEADROOM 6.1 SAILS: MAIN, 135% GENOA with Roller Furling & working jib I purchased this PY26 Sloop in 2008 from the family that bought it new and kept looking and feeling new as well. The name combined the wife/mother-son-daughter’s names Marabe. To be honest I didn’t have the heart to change the name and as the boat was hauled from their home all of the family stood and watched – it had been their loved summer place all during their “growing up” years and accommodated grandchildren too. I am retiring and sadly offering this wonderful sloop for sale. The boat is in wonderful condition. Has been stored on stands and wrapped – over last winter the cabin starboard windows (lights) where removed, cleaned and remounted/sealed (had this pin leak that I couldn’t stand). Replaced both Opening Port-Rain Drain in 2012. Cabin all cushions re-upholstered 2008. Many extras and updates, cabin has been lovingly maintain and looks like new. Sleeps five between V-birth and cabin benches. Dodger & Sun Shade Canopy – fair condition – needs stitching. The boat has been 90% rewired accommodate: circuit breaker panel, GPS, running/mast lighting, battery setup, electric head with high density tubing, radio and just to insure all systems were up to date. One season on halyards: main, genoa, spinnaker 3/8” XLS with shackles. Sails ~ 5 seasons, cleaned and repaired – Sailmakers & Riggers, Inc. each year. GPS-GARMIN BlueChart g2 & Vision (GPSMAP 540S) – installed 2010 – perfect with cabin-roof mount. Meticulously maintained and upgraded for family sailing and live aboard comfort, this William Tripp, Jr. design is a cruising classic and a great value. Her rugged hull was built for speed and blue water, while her expansive flush deck and huge T-shaped cockpit facilitate sail handling and give everyone space at sea. Entirely customized interior features 6ft.3” headroom, queen-size V-berth and long upper/lower bunks, galley w/8 cu ft capacity refrig/freezer, 3-burner stove w/oven, double s/s sink and hot/cold pressurized water, electric flush head with integral shower, and lots of storage space throughout, even a custom nav station/computer workstation and built-in toy box/workbench area. Bright and airy cabins have large opening hatches and deck prisms, parquet cabin sole, new interior/exterior cushions. Stairs (no ladder)from cockpit provide easy access below deck and to engine. Rig features roller furling 130 genoa, removable inner forestay w/staysail, triple reef fully battened main w/lazy jacks, drifter and storm tri-sail (separate track on mast), running backstays and adjustable tension backstay. Mast rails, steps to masthead, double lifelines to s/s pulpit and taffrail, extra long boarding ladders and lots more features help enhance crew safety. Taking offers. Thinking of moving up to a bigger boat (29'-32' cruising sailboat for under $20k- S2, C&C, Beneteau Tartan, Hunter). This C&C is a fully functioning vessel currently being used by family on Buzzards Bay. I have owned the boat for 18 years but she sat idle for twelve years as we awaited a mooring. This is the third season since putting her afloat again. This boat was made in Middleton, RI. It is USCG documented. It is a comfortable, solid sailing small family boat with an attractive modern teak interior. It's condition is exceptionally good for the year and the price reflects this. But she is not without minor flaws. The working jib/blade/spinnaker sails have not been used during my ownership. We are more so fair weather sailors and she gets used modestly. More pictures/video available upon inquiry.

The fiberglass gelcoat is in excellent condition. The entire boat has been polished, buffed, and waxed and is ready to go! Bottom painted in 2014. Bimini and sun/rain cover. Camper top option for companionway. Upgraded upholstery and curtains. Cockpit cushions. Stern rail seats. If you want the fun of sailing a larger boat, but don't want the added cost of dock fees and marina dues, then this Hunter 240 is what you're looking for! With a water-ballast system, she is very light and easy to trailer. When in the water, the ballast tank fills up and along with the swing keel, it is ready for 20 knot winds with no problem. And with the high freeboard, this boat is rated as CE Class "C" (up to 2 meter waves), but can easily handle more. For shallower waters, the keel swings up and you have 1'6" draft. You can actually beach this boat! The boat comes complete with the factory trailer (like new condition). Nothing needed; in water and ready to go! I am actively selling my boat again (since the original ad was posted) after enjoying it on the Bay the last two years. Call now at 484-206-5141 or email to hunter240forsale@gmail.com

30' Cape Dory 30
1979 Gloucester Massachusetts 30 Cape Dory 30

For sale is a 1979 Cape Dory in good shape and ready to sail away. Cape Dorys are known for being high quality boats that are a pleasure to own. This particular boat is the ketch model which is identical to the cutter in all ways except for the rig. The ketch is a very maneuverable rig which balances beautifully and makes the boat very fast on a reach as well as being extremely easy to singlehand thanks to the inherent balance and ease of heaving-to. The ketch is also the only Cape Dory in this size range which can carry an 8.5’ dinghy on deck which is a huge advantage. The engine has been professionally rebuilt making this an excellent value. We are motivated sellers and would be excited to talk to anyone who might be interested in this boat. Cape Dory has a wonderful owners association that includes information on the different models and a very active forum. The website can be found at www.capedory.org

Currently in slip in marina. Sailed 4 times a week. A seagoing cruiser designed with ultimate comfort in mind. Here's a boat that has proven itself an all-time favorite among sailors whose cruising plans may include weeks or months on the water It took the genius of Bill Garden to design so much comfort and convenience into a boat that performs so well; there's a forward stateroom with double berth and abundant storage, enclosed head with shower and a spacious salon with settees and a table that folds out to banquet proportions. Aft of the salon, there's a seagoing galley. Garden's modern hull and rig gives the 305 balanced, sea kindly and surprisingly fast behavior. Boat has custom shade cover and has been rigged so that it can be sailed solo from the helm. Original brochure for several models: http://www.msogphotosite.com/MSOG/pdfpage/buccaneerco.pdf

30' Island Packet 27
1987 Rock Hall Maryland 30 Island Packet 27

The name Island Packet is synonymous with quality and ruggedness. The 27 was introduced in 1985 and has been winning the hearts of adventurous sailors wanting a tough pocket cruiser for years. This little beauty had been damaged and had a 3" hole well above the waterline. She never took on water and has been repaired correctly. The interior panel in the area of the damage was completely removed, inspected and re-glassed. In addition, she got a shiny new paint job and looks beautiful. Her teak is being freshly done and her canvas is in nice condition. Her sails were sent out for cleaning and repair in 2014. She has new standing rigging and a new headsail furler. Forward is a huge V-berth with opening overhead hatch for air flow on the warmest nights. Next aft to port is a storage cabinet and to starboard is the head. The head has a marine toilet (brand new as of June 2014), hot and cold pressure water and a "telephone" type shower. There is a curtain that protects the teak door and trim. The main saloon is next aft with Island Packet's signature bulkhead mounted table with storage behind. There are facing settee's with storage under each and behind. the starboard settee opens to form a double. To starboard of the companionway is the quarter-berth and electrical panel. To port is the galley which has a two burner non-pressurized Origo alcohol stove, large icebox, sink with hot and cold pressure water and fold down counter. All in all, it is an efficient, cozy spot!

22' Cape Dory 22D
1983 Los Angeles California 22 Cape Dory 22D

I have reduced the price of the boat in order for the buyer to purchase a trailer. A trailer has been a recurring issue - even for the local west coast interests. Based upon what I have been finding on trailers (and trucking), I have reduced the boat price by $3,000. - $3,500 in order to accommodate a trailer or trucking. Across country trucking prices have ranged up to $4,000. and good used trailers are in the $3.500. range. The boat is in excellent condition and has been historically well taken care of through the present time. I am the third owner. It has not sat out in a field somewhere and subsequently been 'restored'. Original documents and following records have been kept and are current. The boat has a good original main sail with another 3- 4 years left in it, a jib, storm jib, and 150 genoa. New boom awning with curtains goes from mast to stern and covers cockpit. Handheld and mounted GPS, Depth Sounder, Compass, Radio, 2-Batteries (Bluetop and Interstate), Autopilot, Portable Toilet (new) and a few other things to go with it. The boat is 'dry' and has inboard 1 cylinder Yanmar 7hp diesel engine, 10 gallon fuel tank, 40 hour run time per tank. Boat is currently in the water in a generous 30' slip. Slip can be transferred with the purchase. Bottom is cleaned and inspected every two months by a local, commercial diver. Boat was hauled out in 2012 and 2 coats of new ablative bottom paint applied. Currently about 80% of paint left and effective. Bottom is sound. I have ordered a replacement for the deck and steaming light that is mid-mast. It is the same as the Spartan original. Based upon an inspection, I think the original has just suffered too much weather. Some of the varnish needs to be touched up. Yanmar engine, always serviced, new zincs, raw water impeller with stainless steel screen filter, repacked stuffing box, no leaks. Boat cabin and hull are dry inside. built in sink nd Jasco hand pump faucet, ice box and 10 gallon water tank below forward berth. Very clean and well maintained.

37' Maxim Catamaran
2000 St Marys Georgia 37 Maxim Catamaran

Having sailed extensively in the Indian Ocean, the current owners sailed around Cape Town and headed across the Atlantic in 2010. They spent the next two-and-a-half years cruising the Brasilian coastline, on up through the Caribbean and in to the Bahamas. “Ocean Spice” has been docked in St. Simon’s Island, Georgia since 2013 and is now on the hard awaiting new owners in St. Mary’s, Georgia. She is perfectly situated to head south! Built in South Africa, the Maxim catamaran is a well-known and respected bluewater sailing vessel. “Ocean Spice” offers a three-cabin two head layout. She has spacious accommodations for eight persons: two queen-sized cabins plus one double berth and two single berths. The en-suite Master Cabin is situated starboard. The other two cabins are situated port-side and share a large aft head. The U-shaped Galley is located on the main level adjacent to the Main Salon … this is a cook’s kitchen with ample storage and great work surfaces. The Galley/Salon layout offers a seamless entertainment area that is integrated with the spacious cockpit. “Ocean Spice” features a cruiser’s cockpit for serious sailing which functions equally well for both liveaboard and entertaining. The large foredeck is augmented by the Maxim’s unique bow pulpit seats, one of the greatest features of sailing on this catamaran. The owners have made sure that “Ocean Spice” is ready to go immediately and launch in to her next sailing/cruising adventure … on whichever ocean the new owner chooses to take her!

40' Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 40 DS
Extremely clean, only 609 engine hours, always a fresh water boat, new mainsail installed in July 2014, and a new stereo with blue-tooth and Bose speakers in cabin and cockpit. The 40DS has tremendous room in the cockpit for guests and can accommodate 8 – 10 people comfortably … very different than other 40 foot designs. The starboard side helm also allows the skipper to adjust main and jib from one position without requiring your guests to move out of the way. The two head design, with a private head forward in the owner's cabin, is great for weekends aboard with two couples or children. The Sun Odyssey 40 DS is the first Jeanneau sailboat to be equipped with a revolutionary deck saloon. With living accommodations comparable to those of much bigger yachts, the interior of the 40 DS, with its panoramic view, brings an exciting dimension to cruising sailboats. The minimal drop from the cockpit to the saloon makes life onboard easy. The helm station forward to starboard is close to the companionway, freeing up the cockpit for more comfortable sailing or anchoring. The moveable bench seat to port allows easy access to the transom. To starboard, the cockpit table turns into a sun deck. In the brightly lit and voluminous interior, the beauty and the detail of the woodworking relate perfectly to the quality of the furnishings. The Sun Odyssey 40 DS comes with two spacious and comfortable cabins. Private double owners cabin is forward with its own enclosed head compartment and loads of storage and a built-in writing desk. 2nd private double berth is aft, also with plenty of built-in storage. 2nd head is aft opposite galley.  Details »

51' Herreshoff Mobjack Cutter Ketch
L. Francis Herreshoff designed some magnificent vessels from day sailors to the famous Mobjack series. This Mobjack copy was built in 1987 by H.A. Bauer & J.A. Guinn out of fiberglass with an on deck length of 46 feet and an overall length of 51 feet which includes the teak bowsprit. The solid fiberglass hull was built with a full keel and protected rudder weighing about 28,000 pounds and has about half that weight in ballast. The aft cockpit is very comfortable with a full width bench across the stern, a 44 inch teak wheel and the sheet winches within reach of the helm. The vessel has 4 working sails and a brand new ATN Spinnaker with sock. Both head sails have Hood roller furlings and both the main and mizzen sails have lazy jacks. The SS Rod rigging is in good condition and most all SS chain plates are external. The cabin top has 4 huge opening hatches and 1 forward bow hatch. The cabin top has 13 opening ports and 10 of them are new SS ports. The boat was built with very high toe rails for safety, easy walk around decks and a step down cockpit with 3 large lockers for access and storage as well as 1 locker for the propane tank. There is also a deck hatch forward of the cockpit that allows great engine access as well as 3 opening doors to the engine from the salon. The current owner had started to rebuild the interior, and had the 62hp Perkins completely rebuilt now showing only 5 hours. New cushions were purchased and the project continues. Southwind is in sail away condition still needing some interior finishing. If this beauty is of interest, please call Barry at 954-873-1800 so you can see the boat and make your offer.  Details »

37' Gulfstar 37 sloop
This boat has been on Lake Norman its entire life so fresh water and has seldom seen extreme winds or waves. Fair condition but does need some TLC, mostly on the interior. Leaky ports have caused some delamination around them. Strong running Perkins 4-108 engine, low hours. Lectra san head, Adler Barbour fridge, manual windlass, two anchors. Roller furling jib needs restitching, using smaller hank on jib now. Original main in useable condition. Price reflects work needed. She is being actively sailed now. My intention was to get my wife comfortable sailing on the lake, fix her up a bit, and haul her to the coast. Step one is well underway but I have found a large cruiser on the coast for a good price and figure it is MUCH simpler to let the Gulfstar go and buy the one out there! This boat has a huge cabin and is like having a condo on the water. Slip is paid up to June 2015  Details »

A note on buying and selling safely:
Anytime you buy or sell on the Internet, due to the geographic reach of the ads, be careful of fraud.

It has recently come to our attention that at least one seller has received a scam e-mail offer in which the buyer offered to overpay for the boat and then requests a check for the difference in return - what has come to be known as a classic "Nigeria" scam.

Requests to overpay for the boat and have excess money returned or given to a shipping company are most likely fraudulent -- never do this without consulting with your bank first.

Please always use caution and your best judgment if presented with a deal which doesn't seem logical, and be sure to talk with your bank to be sure all checks and transactions have been completed, cleared, and verified before releasing any property. Be especially careful of any transactions from overseas where such transactions might be reversed after some time due to fraud.

  • Never give your password to anyone. SailboatListings.com will never ask for your password. Any such request is an attempt at phishing.
  • Be careful of buyers or sellers using free email addresses (hotmail, yahoo, etc.)
  • Contact the buyer or seller by (non-cell) phone as well as online to help confirm their identity.
  • If a boat is not where it says it is, this is a strong indication of fraud.
  • After discussing the details, have the boat surveyed and arrange to see the boat before any money changes hands.
