Description:

Maro IV is just completing a one year trip around the North Atlantic from the Gulf of St-Lawrence to Scotland, Spain, Portugal and the Caribbean. All systems were renovated in 2009 and the boat is in very good shape and is ready to leave again for very fast and safe ocean passages. It is already equipped with SSB with Pactor III modem for emails at sea, EPIRB, liferaft, water maker and diesel heater. Originally built for the 1979 Admiral's Cup/Fastnet Race British team, it was the prototype of the Swan 51. After years of racing, it was modified to be a performance cruiser/gentleman's racer under the name Toscana (ex Blizzard). It has been continuously upgraded over the years with a lower draft keel from MARS metal, a very solid titanium and carbon fibre rudder, hydraulic auto pilot, hydraulic windlass for high performance Mason anchor with 300 feet of quality chain, technical mast with solar panels and wind generator mounting.
