This Islander is the one of the nicest showing boats around, and definitely the nicest Islander 36 on the West Coast. The owner has meticulously kept up on this boat and has maintained her in bristol condition. This boat is a must see for anyone looking for a very capable cruising boat. The 1972 was known to be one of the strongest years of Islanders, and always blister free due to the extra amount of resin/materials used in the hulls and other in all of the pre-1975 models.
The interior of the boat was given a complete new restoration and updating 2 years ago. All original woodwork was completely restored, removed and replaced or other by professional marine mechanic. New carpet. New cushions/upholstery in a dark hunter green color. New solar vents installed recently. Interior was also given a more modern, roomy look, to include installation of brand new large more modern windows 6 months ago.
All new Raymarine electronics (autopilot), wind direction, depth finder were installed 6 months ago and talk to each other in an integrated system that can easily accept upgrades of new equipment.
Brand new Delta anchor and rode is 4 months old and never used. Also a secondary anchor for the stern sits in a beuatiful wood holder on the port side and is a historic anchor/conversation piece off of a WWII landing craft.
Boat was repowered with a brand new 40 HP Yanmar that is nearing 3 years old now.
