| Description: |
MAIREAD sits at the top of the class with her boosted performance from the optional tall rig and 75hp turbo diesel Yanmar. Designed as a versatile sailing machine for both extended blue-water cruising and short-handed sailing this Tartan 4100 is properly equipped to do so with her electric pit winch, life raft, EPIRB and fresh electronics in 2010. Currently under the tender loving care of Dodson Boatyard MAIREAD is ready to show.
Accommodations
Walk down the companionway and the first thing you will notice is her woodwork with high gloss accents and beautifully maintained teak and holly sole. Next you will notice the abundance of natural lighting and ventilation reaching into the spacious cabin from the hatches and port windows. Once down bellow, you have the head and nav station to starboard and galley to port. The master cabin is aft and forward is the saloon followed by the v-berth.
The Saloon features a large drop leaf table with two built in drawers and secret storage accessed from a recessed lid. Fold up the table and the port side settee neatly wraps around the dining table for more available space. Shelving and cabinet storage is outboard of the port and starboard settees. The saloon has sleeping capacity for 3 from the single settee/berth starboard and double berth once the filler cushion is installed in the port settee.
Just aft of the saloon and to starboard Mairead offers the most desirable Navigator’s Station of the Tartan 4100 models. The unobstructed forward facing layout is the most covenant and intuitive for the navigator. Located next to the companionway for easy communication between the helmsmen and navigator.
The galley is athwart ships and is also equipped with optional features not seen in earlier models. Access to the refrigerator comes form two flush counter top hatches and an over sized front face access door. Counter space can be limited in some galleys but Mairead has a corian drop leaf extension and a clever drying rack, which folds down form the bulkhead so water can drip into the sink |
