| Description: |
Fairway Winds is a 1979 Cheoy Lee Perry 35. I bought this boat and worked on it for the better part of 2 years. The spruce mast has been replaced with an aluminum mast. I consulted with the designer, Robert Perry, during the re-fit of the mast. It has new chain plates, a new mast step and new halyards. I took up the old teak decks and put a marine plywood skin over the fiberglass deck, glassed all the seams, primed the wood and put down four coats of Dura-bac commercial non-skid for a rock solid new deck. There are no soft spots in the deck or cabin top. The first two coats included a granulated rubber aggregate for grip and the second two coats were the smooth version which makes the surface slightly less "aggressive" and thus easier on bare feet or knees. The old teak seats in the cockpit have been replaced with beautiful Brazilian Cherry. The hatch cover has been refurbished with African Teak. The boat has a Ray Marine auto-pilot, wireless transducer for depth finder and a separate Hummingbird depth finder. The interior of this boart is in great shape. It has a new headliner. The interior is in the original teak and Mahogany. It has a gimble propane stove, has been re-wired and comes with an unbelievable assortment of spare parts for rigging and various other needs. Two emergency flare kits. It even has a stocked mini-bar. The sail inventory consist of a 20% storm jib, a 110% working jib, a 165% Genoa, and a Spinnaker. The main is in good condition. Included is a practically new Facnor roller furler and a like new head sail that is not installed but that was on the boat prior to re-placing the original spruce mast. Seat cushions for cockpit are in good shape. Life jackets, throwable floatation cushion, two horseshoe type throwable devices and a 50 lb plow anchor. The engine is the original 2 cylinder Volvo Penta diesel. The injectors have been re-built, the fuel system cleaned and the exhaust system re-built. The engine has run fairly well but would need some work. Great for live-aboard. Sleeps 5. I could go on but you get the idea. |
