For sale is my 1976 Jim Brown Searunner 31 A-frame cruising trimaran built by Tom Freeman in Santa Cruz. This little multihull would make a perfect liveaboard cruiser or just a fun weekender. Sleeps 4 and has a head and galley. I have owned this little beast for the past 2 years and performed major refitting during that period . The previous owner had her bottom done few weeks before selling her to me. I repainted the exterior and completely refurbished the interior with epoxy paint. Besides the mast , running rigging and amas interior she has been touched everywhere. Minor rot damage was professionally repaired and she is a very solid machine now. The most drastic addition would be the hard dodger which is a foam core\ fibergass construction made with west system epoxy. Another unique modification is the kickup rudder and it works like a charm. Further more, the portholes have been replaced with tinted polycarbonate , all lines lead to the cockpit for single handing and netting has been installed between the hulls for safety. Performance is top for a plywood boat and i had her going 14knots on many occasions . Traveled all over the Delta , San Pablo bay , Sfo bay and did some coastal sailing. She handles very well and never let me down . |
