43' Spindrift 43 center cockpit double ender

This rugged 1980 Spindrift 43 (#1) center-cockpit double ender -- a full keel, custom outfitted cutter -- is for sale in Honolulu by its original owner/cruiser, who just turned 81, and after 15 years (and 35,000 miles) of double-handed Pacific Ocean cruising, is now "hanging it up!" and selling his boat.
Windcastle is a beautiful, well maintained by owner, and exceedingly well designed by Ron Amy, and appointed by owner with all the features for comfy and safe world cruising. A powerful sailing rig with triple reef 9-oz mainsail (new), a Profurl roller furling 100% jib, and hanked on (reefable) staysail (with a new mid stay) is backed up with a large 80-hp Lehman-Ford diesel engine. Windcastle comes with two dinghies: 9-ft Avon and 8-ft Fatty Knees (with sail). Two outboard motors -- Honda 8 hp and 2 hp (latter air cooled), both 4 cycle.
Boat has great headroom below, typically 6'-10" in cabin spaces, minimum 6' in companionway between main cabin and aft owner's cabin. Many opening portlights in both trunk cabin and upper hull provide lots of light and air (when opened at anchor or in port).
All varnished (satin) teak interior. Great stowage below and behind all seating spaces plus special lockers and drawers. Large freezer (two large cold plates) with adjacent reefer having both top and front loading doors.

Skipper's cabin aft sleeps two very comfortably, with head and shower adjacent. Crew space for one forward of main salon, with head -- plus settee in main cabin can be used as 4th berth or a sea berth with leecloth.

Main engine (80 HP Lehman-Ford Diesel) provides power to push the boat, plus drives the 160-amp Leece-Neville alternator, plus the refrigeration system, and Aqua Marine watermaker (rated at 20 gal/hour).
