Description: |
The Pearson 10m has roomy decks to move around on, and most running rigging is easily accessible at the helm, great for single-handed sailing. Open cockpit, with wheel on pedestal steering, two self-tailing winches. Weatherboards (recently refinished) for companionway-step down to standing headroom interior. Entering through the companionway, the galley with Origo stove, sink, and Icebox are to starboard, with plenty of storage space for food and kitchenware. To port, is a navigation station, featuring a chart table with lifting top and a quarter berth surrounded by a beautifully teak-stripped wall. Stepping into the main salon, there is a double berth to port and two berths to starboard, each with generous storage and lighting.
Wood flooring has been refinished. Two 20-gallon freshwater tanks are located under the main salon berths, and a large holding tank is located under the v-berth. Forward enclosed head with shower. Replaced head (Raritan) and all hoses in 2014. Installed a new fabricated anodized mast step in 2004.
In 2012, the original Volvo Penta diesel engine was replaced with a Yanmar 3GM 30FC Diesel Engine with a Sail Drive. (Probably the only 10M with a sail drive). This low-hour engine is in great shape. A new two-blade folding prop was installed this spring, which enhances hull speed under sail, and with its PHRF average rating of 135-141, this is a great club racer.
All running and standing rigging is in great shape. The bottom was painted in May of 2023, and the mast was re-stepped on a new fabricated anodized mast step in 2004, to correct the known issue of corrosion on original steel Pearson mast steps. One new house battery was installed in 2023.
Sails: Mainsail with full batten and Dutchman system (good condition; with Doyle sail cover purchased in 2003). Harken roller furler for jib (#1 Genoa and #2 Genoa). Spinnaker, (very little use) and whisker spinnaker pole Dodger (purchased in 2003) and Bimini are both in new condition. |
