** IMPORTANT ADDITIONS TO MIRADOR NOT FOUND ON ANY OTHER CALIBER 40**
All sails custom made by North Sails of Seattle and Quantum Sails in San Diego - specifically for Mirador's character as a long distance offshore cruiser. The sails were designed and constructed to insure safe sailing in almost any conditions.
Spinnaker, drifter, 120% roller furling genoa, and three staysails for safe and comfortable sailing in anything from zephyrs to storm force winds. Her mainsail (new Feb 2014) has a very deep reef and her trysail will deal with those really bad days!
1100 NM motor range at 6.4 knots with 140 gallons diesel in two tanks. 500 watts of solar power - SIMULTANEOUSLY make water, run refrigerator compressor, and charge batteries. 645 amp hours of T-105 house batteries with 2000 watt inverter & microwave.
Spectra watermaker - 16 gallons per hour with 85 gallons of storage. Technautics CoolBlue refrigeration system keeps the freezer at 10 degrees while running on less than 35 amp hours/day. Sailomat windvane and Raymarine SPX-30 / P70 autopilot. Safety equipment is very reassuring - Winslow life raft, EPIRB, 18' sea anchor, 72" drogue, Halon system, lee clothes, pad eyes.
CUSTOM anchoring system includes a Spade 66 with 300 feet of 5/16" HT chain, a Fortress FX 55, a Bruce 44 with 300' of 3/8" chain, 600' of additional 5/8" rode, a washdown system, and a very strong Maxwell VWC1 1200 windlass with remote control.
Stern anchoring system with automatic deployment of anchor and rode. Standup shop with eight drawers and a metal workbench. The shop also functions as a standup navigation station with room for a full size chart - folded in half. *****
