Wind Dancing
Ideally located in the BVI's
We have decided to sell our beloved Wind Dancing after the many winter months we have been cruising the BVI's for the last nine years.
Wind Dancing is a 1988 Bayfield 32 that has been extensively upgraded and professionally serviced by the current owners.
We are looking for someone who is interested in assuming these responsibilities and becoming the third owner of this prized vessel.
She is ideally located in the British Virgin Islands, less then a days flight from any Port in North America. |

We are the second owner, first owner had her for 14 years and gave it TLC all the way, never tarped, but stored in a barn and sailed on St Lawrence and Lake Ontario only.
When we first saw this 14 year Bayfield 32 we thought we were at the Toronto Boat Show, it looked brand new !! Subsequently the surveyor's report gave it outstanding in all categories.
We knew we would live in the cockpit [breakfast, lunch, dinner] when we were preparing Wind Dancing for BVI's, so we spent almost $5,000 on dodger and two freestanding biminis with zippered side panels.

Wind Dancing was shipped in fall of 2002 with Dockwise from New Port, RI to St Thomas, US Virgin Islands, so there was little wear and tear getting Wind Dancing down to BVI's.She has been there ever since. The cost was $4,000. Checked on current price to get it back to New Port: now $10,000.
Electrical also redone with Balmar alternator and smart regulator. Many other improvements over the years we've had her.
For the ground tackle we added an oversized windlass [ good for a 42 boat weighing 24,000 pounds, Wind Dancing now about 11,000 - 12,000 pounds loaded ] so as to give us holding power with 175 feet of chain. The whole anchoring system was over-engineered so we could always have a good nights sleep. In the years there we never dragged anchor. Always had a good night's sleep !!
The bow sprit was rebuilt four years ago at the cost of $3,000. |
