| Description: |
Because of my health, I am selling my long time friend, Kachina, a Dufour 24 sloop built in '77. She has a '01 Honda long shaft 8 hp.outboard. Both boat and motor are in good condition. (The motor has been very seldom used.)
Dufour Yachts is a producer of high-end large luxury yachts. For about 4 years in the late 70's/early 80's, they added the 24-footer to the line, and then discontinued it. The quality and durability are noticeable, including a fully lined hull in the cabin area to prevent condensation, cockpit seating with beveled edges and slanted backs for comfort.
Although only 24 feet, the cockpit is quite comfortable for 6 adults and has an outdoor table that can be set for 4. Inside is sleeping for 4, room for the table, port-a-potty, and slide out "kitchen" propane stove and sink. There is much gear included: main, 120 jib, jib, storm jib, two tri-corner spinnakers (and spinnaker pole), VHF, life vests, two Danforth anchors, 500' or more line, etc. The front hatch area has a soft spot and should be reset, and a cosmetic spruce-up would do well. Kachina spent about 60% of its life on freshwater, and the first owner had it on the hard for several years. |
