The Spencer 42 is a heavy world cruiser. It is an aft cockpit cutter rigged sloop with a modified full keel. The Spencer is a well-founded vessel with glassed-in fuel tanks, not the typical black iron tanks that you will find on most of the Asian built boats. This vessel was repowered in 2005, with a 60 HP Isuzu C240 diesel engine. She has a wonderfully spacious cockpit, relatively low freeboard, and the companionway is wide and deep for easy access into the interior.
Entering the companionway, the aft quarter berth is to port, just aft of the large nav station. The galley is to starboard, with a double sink and custom copper plate countertops. The salon features a U-shaped dining area to starboard and a settee to port. Moving forward, there is a large hanging locker to port, and the head is to starboard. The V-berth is spacious with lots of storage. |
