Description: The Chamberlain Gunning Dory is the most elegant variation of the dory, double ended and built for speed and seaworthiness. This boat was built in the mid-1980s in Seattle out of marine ply/epoxy with oak frames to make a round trip to Alaska. After that it was in the Center for Wooden Boats livery until I bought the bare hull in 2002. I fitted a new two masted cat-ketch standing lug rig, lightweight sitka spruce spars, and tanbark sails sewed by Gamble and Hunter. The result is a fast and able sailor that also rows well with one or two at the oars. The rig can easily be reduced in a gale and all spars fit inside the boat. Its flat bottom, kick-up rudder and centerboard mean you can explore the shallowest estuaries and it sits level when beached. Tows and launches easily behind a compact pickup or car (I’ve taken it to Oregon behind a Honda Civic). Repainted at the end of last season in Kirby light green with buff insides, it needs nothing and is ready to carry you on boating adventures this summer. Local delivery possible.

Equipment: Included are a 2003 EZ Loader trailer (current registration, new LED lights), two sets of Shaw and Tenney spruce spoon blade oars, anchor, sail bag and full custom cover.
