| Description: |
The boat which was originally called OPNI (Opni (Object Planet Non-Identifie) and
Speedy is a legendary Libera built in 1983. It has won the Centomiglia, the Blue
Ribbon Race on Lake Geneva, the Bol’dor and achieved second place at Europe
Challenge. Its last victory was in 1996 at the RUNDUM (the Blue Ribbon Race on
Lake Boden). Seeing the above mentioned results, it’s obviously not a brand new
boat.
Our team rebuilt 99% of the boat in 2010 devoting a lot of time, money and work to
the project. We applied innovative technological methods which made the boat
much lighter and faster, further increasing the chance of future victories.
The entire length of Speedy (including the bugsprit) is 16.4 m, its width together
with the trapezes is 7.60 m, and the mast is 20.50m high.
Since the boat is built of ultramodern materials, its weight is merely 1150 kg,
enabling it to reach a sailing speed of 30 knots (appr. 54Km/h). THE BOAT IS LYING IN A HARBOUR ON LAKE BALATON, IN HUNGARY. MORE PICTURES AND DETAILS ARE AVAILABLE ON DEMAND. |
