Description: The Bruce King designed Ericson 38 has stood the test of time. She has prospered and flourished as an ever popular fast, stable, family cruiser and club racer. “Bella’s” layout is user friendly with great sleeping accommodations, a spacious head/shower and a large and comfortable cockpit. Her electrical system has been upgraded to facilitate weekend and extended cruising. Her lines and appearance turn heads in every harbor. All in a sought after shoal keel configuration with 4’ 11” draft. Equipment: "Bella" accommodates seven in three cabins with two forward in the v-berth, three in the main salon, and two in the aft cabin. Standing headroom is 6'2". The interior is a combination of oiled and finished teak with a newer teak & holly sole. There are 2 newer opening Lewmar hatches and 6 newer opening portholes. All hatches/portholes (incl. companionway) portholes have screens. The main salon is very generous. To starboard is a two person settee table which converts to a single berth, storage outboard, including a bookshelf, and storage underneath. There's a bulkhead mounted Cole wood/briquette stove to warm the cabin. To port is a u-shaped dinette which seats five and converts to a double berth. There is storage above, outboard, and underneath. In addition to many 12v electric cabin lights, there's a large trawler oil lamp over the dining table and a second bulkhead mounted oil lamp. The main salon is also decorated with picture frames to personalize the cabin. The u-shaped galley has ample storage, including a lazy susan storage locker, pull down dish locker, and three bottle wine rack. The primary ice box is cooled by Adler-Barbour 12v refrigeration and a 2nd ice box can double as dry storage. There is a 3 burner Gas Systems gimbaled CNG stove/oven. A trash pass-through hatch into the engine room cleverly removes trash from the living space and is convenient to empty. The navigator’s station features a forward facing seat with chart table and flip-top storage, outboard shelves and rolled chart storage. The aft cabin quarter berth is formed by the navigator's station and includes a sliding door for privacy. The cockpit is a large T-type cockpit with angled coaming seatbacks, curved helmsman seat, a pedestal wheel with engine controls and custom teak cockpit table. All navigation electronics are mounted on the steering pedestal as is the large steering wheel wrapped with a custom elk hide cover for comfort. There is a large cockpit storage locker to starboard, a coaming deck box, and a large lazarette style storage locker in the helmsman seat. The mast is a tapered aluminum double-spreader rig, painted white, and stepped on the keel. All halyards, sheets and other control lines are led aft to the cockpit making single handling possible. There’s an anchor roller on the bow and an anchor locker in the foredeck. She is powered by a Universal M40 32hp 4 cylinder fresh water cooled Diesel with Martec folding prop. Sails include UK Sailmakers Mainsail and UK Sailmakers Tapedrive Mylar 150% Genoa. Equipment includes: Harken roller furler, Navitec hydraulic backstay, Garhauer ball bearing jib cars, Six Barient winches, Ritchie compass, Standard Horizon VHF marine radio with Standard RAM microphone, DataMarine depthsounder, DataMarine speedometer, DataMarine wind machine, Garmin GPSMap 76, Autohelm ST50 Radar, Navico WP5000 autopilot, Stereo system with cabin & cockpit speakers, 12v Deep Cycle Starting Battery, Four 6v Deep Cycle Batteries in parallel (440 Amp Hrs), Powerline 100 amp Alternator, 20 lb Danforth “20H” anchor w/ 30’ of 5/8” chain and 150' 5/8” nylon rode, 35 lb Delta anchor w/ 150' 5/8” nylon rode, galley supplies, flares & life jackets, fenders & dock lines, fitted Fairclough winter cover, and Boat/US 8’ inflatable with Nissan 5hp outboard. Tankage incl. newer 50 Gal Diesel, 70 Gal Water (50&20), 6 Gal Seaward Hot Water Heater, newer 22 Gal Holding.
