| Description: |
This is a re-powered diesel/electric hybrid. The diesel has 110 hours on its rebuild and the electric is new. The systems work together so that you can sail, run the diesel, run the electric, run the diesel and the motor recharges the batteries or just sail and the prop recharges the batteries. The boat has been used as our demonstration boat for Electric Yachts of Southern California but I am now re-powering a larger boat. |
| Equipment: |
Standing rigging excellent heavy duty.
Running rigging excellent harken.
Sails excellent US plus backups.
Radar JRC 1500.
Radio Standard AIS 3100.
Water pressure pump (2013).
Diesel - Yanmar 2QM15 (motor rebuilt was in fresh water).
Electric - Electric Yacht WE7.0 - 7kw system
Batteries - 4 100AH AGM power and 1 100AH house/starter
Chargers: QuickCharge SCO4815 48v system & Procharge 12v system.
The boat has been completely reconditioned by my company and sailed for the last 12 months and used as my demostration boat for Electric Yacht hybrid motor system
The Columbia 9.6 (31.5 feet) is equipped with a rebuilt Yanmar diesel and an Electric Yacht hybrid system. The diesel is in excellent condition. Both the diesel and the electric can push the boat as they have access to the shaft. The electric also has the ability to regenerate power back into its battery bank when cruising above 5kts. The diesel also has the ability to turn the electric motor into a generator to fast recharge the batteries. When in the harbor, day sailing and most of our passage making is done with the electric. The diesel allow us to have extended passage making increasing the range of the diesel by about 50%. Under electric power, slow speed control is very superior to the diesel system. Also the electric propulsion has the ability to improve sailing speed and point of sail in light winds by reducing hull drag with very slow propeller rotation (can increase speeds by 1 to 2kts in light winds for over 20 hours).
