Cape Dory Yachts are among the finest quality, seaworthy, solid. safe and responsive sailing yachts, designed by Carl Alberg. They have been and are sailing everywhere in the world. The 36 is a classic cruiser with a warm teak interior. With a full, cutaway keel, she is surprisingly fast often beating fin keeled boats. The keel extends back to the rudder, protecting it and making it less vulnerable to damage when grounded. The full keel makes her track well in heavy seas. Her fiberglass decks are wide and uncluttered. She has plenty of headroom at 6'4". Her masthead rig with fully battened main and 2 headsails enable her to work well to windward. Sea Tern Has sails for every wind and weather condition including foresail and storm jib, cruising spinnaker and furling genoa. Air circulation is good with her 10 opening bronze ports (with screens) and 2 deck hatches. The deck hatches have removable safety bars which enable them to be left open all the time, a great feature in the tropics. Sea Tern is equipped with everything that makes her self-sufficient anywhere in the world. She has radar, water maker, ham/SSB radios, tricolor masthead light, refrigeration, hydraulic autopilot (also spare), Monitor windvane, powerful and reliable diesel engine, 3 solar panels, efficient self tailing winches, RIB and 15HP outboard, bimini, dodger and spray shields. swimming ladder, gimballed captain's chair, liferaft (outdated) and many spare parts.
