| Description: |
'Tequila' is a very unique, well-maintained, and lovingly cared-for example of Bruce Farr's Garret 40 design. She's been a fresh-water boat all her life until 2009 when she arrived on the East coast. The Garret 40 was offered in racing and cruising versions, 'Tequila' being a racing version. She was built by Hinkel Marine Group, a custom boat builder in Virginia commissioned to build many of the early Farr designs.
'Tequila' oozes pride of ownership; she underwent a major refit in 2007 and was modified for cruising. She maintains her underbody and deck arrangement, but the interior has been redesigned and executed with cruising comfort in mind. The entire forward cabin has been transformed into a large head/stall shower and the main salon has been transformed into an efficient living space with additions such as a microwave oven, 12v refrigeration, television, and Force 10 2-burner stove with built-in oven. The aft portion of the interior retains the original configuration with two double berths, one of which has a custom mattress. During the transition from 'racer' to 'racer-cruiser', the current owners of 'Tequila' made creative decisions and efficient use of the Garret 40's interior volume. If you're after a true performance cruiser capable of both long passages and club racing, 'Tequila' should be on your short-list!
Over the past fifteen years, 'Tequila' has been lovingly maintained by her current owners. First impressions are everything and you will not be disappointed when you view 'Tequila'. A cruising boat with exceptional sailing characteristics is a rare find, let alone one that has been expertly maintained. Her owners can't take her anywhere without someone asking about her design and background. See full specs for details on the 2007 refit and recent upgrades.
'Tequila' is currently on-the-hard in Charlevoix, MI and available for inspection by appointment.
