GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This is essentially a single compartment wood vessel built by Jones-Goodell Yachts in Tacoma, Washington in 1986.
The vessel is essentially a exceptionally well built complete traditional vessel designed by Nick Benton.
The hull is of strip plank 3/8" cedar with 1" diagonal and covered with fiberglass on her exterior.
She is a relatively heavy, stout-built schooner.
Her layout below consists of a chain locker forward, followed by a settee/berth arrangement in the forepeak with a table between, a galley area to port, and stowage and hanging lockers to starboard.
Following the galley in her center passageway is an athwartships ladder leading up to her foredeck port side.
Following the forepeak is her amidships engine space with her main engine sitting low in the hull with her generator above along with miscellaneous auxiliary equipment, including a water maker.
To starboard in the passageway is a head as well as a small work bench space.
Below the sole is access to a holding tank and other equipment.
Following her engine space is her main saloon with a large double berth set to starboard, navigation equipment following, and to port general storage with separate washer and dryer.
On the port side aft is her main companionway leading up to the large, well protected cockpit with wheel steering.
Just aft of the ladder is a crawl space access to her lazarette, steering gear and general stowage.
On deck is a hydraulic capstan forward with her anchor set in a hawsepipe, the hull being protected with a metal plate.
Aft of the house, in front of her cockpit is her electric winch with all of her halyards leading to this with appropriate stoppers. |
