| Description: |
Time to sell our Mac 25 as we moved up to a larger boat. To sum it up "We Loved This Boat!!!" It is fun to sail, loves light winds, but also handles well in heavy wind. Motors at 6 knots all day long using little gas and quiet enough to still carry a conversation with your guests. Pull right up to a beach or anchor in less than two feet of water. Sleeps 4 comfortably, could squeeze in 5-6 if you are really friendly. The Mac 25 has much more head room than the '90s 26S or 26D, which makes it more comfortable with the pop top in the lower position. I am 6' tall and I can get around inside easily.
The Mac 25 has a 625lb lead swing keel that draws 5' when down and 18" when up so it is great in Florida waters. One advantage of our Mac is that the keel was removed in 2011, repainted, and the keel bolt replaced with a new stainless bolt. It is hard to tell if the bolt is in good condition unless you drop the keel. This procedure and the new bottom paint in 2011 is worth $1000, so you can be confident that you wont lose the keel.
The boat did seem to have much use before we bought it in 2009.
$4,500 ready to sail and make more great memories! |
