| Description: |
This 1984 47' Vagabond 47 Ketch/Cutter Sailboat was lightly damaged when it’s former owners were air lifted off due to a medical emergency. The vessel sailed by itself for 11 days before it was recovered and brought to it’s current location. The vessel’s former owners were paid according to their claim and the vessel is now for auction. The only damage sustained during this ordeal was done by the salvors during the recovery process. This damage includes the bow rail, bowsprit and a small delamination where the recovery vessel lightly touched the Vagabond while salvors were boarding. The fiberglass hull is in good condition except for small hole noted below. Bowsprit damaged and weak, with lateral cracks where attached to bow. Cap rails damaged around chain plates port and starboard. Rub rails damaged portside below chain plates. Rub rail damaged portside below forward large cabin window. Hull has hole approximately 4” diameter, starboard aft approximately 3’ above waterline, with interior damage showing inside aft head locker with lining poked in. Portside whisker stay broken. This vessel has fixed keel.
This is an extremely well equipped cruising vessel that was insured for over $300,000. For a copy of the latest survey please email loui@usauctions.com.
