Description: |
As a former long-time Annapolis resident, I watched the whole Gemini Catamaran evolution unfold. Seeing these boats built right in my back yard, so to speak, I became very familiar with them and have enjoyed many happy miles aboard a number of Gemini cats. If your goal is to have a great ultra-shoal draft cruising yacht with super low ownership and maintenance costs, with the ability to take jumps across some open water and cruise the shallow areas of the world too, then it would be difficult to find a better boat to do it on than a Gemini Catamaran. This particular boat has been in the same loving ownership since she was brand new and although never in charter, she shows her age a just a little on her exterior from sunlight and tropical sailing. Her interior however is still almost like new and overall she is in very good condition. Priced towards the bottom of what these boats typically ask, and with good equipment and low hours of usage, she represents a solid value for anyone looking to get into catamarans without spending a quarter million dollars or more! Located in the heart of some of the worlds best cruising grounds, Sara Jane has just been put in commission and is ready to take you on new adventures!
Owners Remarks: The Sara Jane was built in 2008 in Annapolis, Maryland, USA. We bought her from new and sailed her down throw the ICW and out in the Atlantic to Florida. From there we sailed her across the Florida straits to Bimini in the Bahamas. We experienced some bumpy weather in the boisterous Gulf Stream, but she copes well with that sort of slop! We spent a few years sailing around the Bahamian Islands. We then sailed her across to the Turks and Caicos to Haiti and the Dominican Republic in 20 knots of wind, making 8 knots on occasion. After crossing the Mona passage, our next stop was Puerto Rico! We have been in the BVIs for the last four years and in that time we have covered the whole of the Virgin Islands and sailed her St. Martin and as far down as St. Kitts. Lately we have sailed her to St. Croix and the Spanish Virgin Islands. |
