The boat was purchased from the first owner in November 1998 and has been our home ever since. Unfortunately age now tells us to change from mono- to multi hull. We kept her in pretty good shape and tried to keep all the systems working at all times. However, one must not forget, that she is approx. 26 years old and there is this fair amount of wear and tear, requiring a little TLC.
The attached original Irwin specs must be seen as a general guideline. During the long years, experience had shown that certain things were missing and they were added, accordingly. The best examples are the central air conditioning system, a giant fridge and separate freezer, a 6 KW/110 V/60 Hz genset driven by a 2-cylinder Kubota diesel engine, a PUR 40E water maker (hardly ever used with its new membrane) and, to make storage of odds and ends easier, open shelves were converted into cabinets and some cabinets and shelves were added.
Furthermore there is an Exite 2000 W inverter/charger and the batteries were changed from the original four 6 V/220 Ah-Trojan wet cells to six maintenance-free 6 V/180 Ah Tudor gel batteries. The separate 12 V starter battery is also of the gel type.
There are two autopilots. The main AP is a Raymarine ST 6001 (purchased De. 2004) with hydraulic drive, the back-up a Simrad WP32 wheel pilot (purchased in 2005) with remote control.
Remodeling the saloon, the old table was replaced by a drop-leaf table with integrated wine depot and wet bar, while the port and starboard settees received new foam and microfiber fabric plus four pillows.
The forward stateroom was also remodeled in 2008, where the plywood walls were replaced and a new mattress, made of a special foam composite and microfiber, was put in, built by a professional German upholsterer.
As we believe in dry sailing, the center cockpit is protected by a brand new full cockpit enclosure built in 2009. The cockpit cushions are made of closed cell foam.
