Description: The Formosa Peterson 46 is a fast cruiser, big enough for the whole family. It sleeps up to eight passengers. The v berth and aft cabins provide privacy and plenty of room.
In 2005, this boat was completely refurbished. The freshly painted Ford Lehman engine has approximately 30 hours since rebuild. New Hull side paint, crisp sails, and twin furlers are only a few new features. The Formosa Peterson 46 sleeps eight in comfort with a large separate aft cabin. A fast sailing, but capable offshore cruising cutter rigged yacht. The designer, Doug Peterson, who is known worldwide for his racing designs, provided a cruising yacht with a new concept. His design emphasizes the ability to sail comfortably and safely to a destination regardless of the wind direction, yet has good handling characteristics and is sea kindly.

The construction of the Peterson 44 is rugged and strong yet the lines of the hull and the low profile appearance give a beautiful impression of speed and comfort.

Extensive use of teak in the mid cockpit, on the opening hatches and trim provides a rich yet clean and sharp appearance that is easy to maintain. The interior hand rubbed teak panels and trim maintain the warmth of wood found only in the old world sailing ships. However, the modern interior layout provides the privacy of two separate double cabins, each with private head and shower, large dining facilities, navigator's station, U-shaped galley and a feeling of spaciousness throughout.

No port touched by the blue seas is beyond reach in safety and comfort with the Peterson 44. The galley is U-Shaped and provides plenty of room to prepare meals at sea. A large serving counter, gimbling stove, and large icebox are all at hand. Cabinets all around allow for plenty of secure storage. The sit-around salon table seats six comfortably. An outdoor table in front of the helm is great for serving food and drinks on deck.

Equipment: The standing rigging was replaced After 2005 as well as much of the running rigging. Most sail controls are led to clutch banks and winches making raising and lowering canvas easy. Twin roller furlers hold the Jib and Staysail. The mainsail has long battens and captive slugs for singlehanded ease. Running backstays help to stabilize the rig in heavy air.
The navigation station is comfortable with GPS, Radar, and radio at hand. A large forward facing desk fits charts or a laptop with room for more electronic equipment.
The Ford Lehman Diesel was rebuilt after 2005 and looks immaculate.
