1972 Cal 29 located in Washington for sale

29' Cal 29

Description: My parents bought the boat, "Paxicakes," in 1992 from a man who outfitted it to go to Alaska. He took it up twice and back before selling to my family. The upgrades he invested in include a new Monel fuel tank, 14 HP Yanmar diesel inboard, radar, paint, forced air propane heat, and other extras. During the following 12 years my parents had the boat, we traveled the gulf islands in the summer months, took weekend trips the rest of the year, and my father added MANY features that made the boat perfect for family cruising. My parents sold the boat in April 2004, and my husband and I bought it back in March 2010. We put about $3000 into getting it looking shiny and new, with dock lines, three new batteries, rigging, rub rail (really stands out), fenders, and other odds and ends. My father insulated the entire interior, making it a great boat even in the dead of winter! He also made a custom fiberglass dodger, with three windows and teak handles, GPS & autopilot remote cradles. (Autopilot included!) It also features a custom fiberglass swim step. He is an electrician, so there is a lot of customization in that department, including red lights down below for night voyages, and an inverter. He also purchased a full batten main sail (with a silhouette of our family dog, Pax at the top), and roller furling. Not to mention the fact that the boat has extra parts, and a large inventory of tools. Bruce anchor with 50' chain and 200' rode. All the through hulls are the highest quality, and

Equipment: the bottom was painted two summer of 2009. We had the bottom cleaned, zincs checks, and new tabs in August. The layout is amazing, with a linear galley starboard for amazing cooking space, best you will find on a 29 footer! Sleeps six, two in the V-berth (with 4 inches of memory foam on top of the original cushions), the table folds down into a double, and there are two quarter-berths. The marine head and holding tank has been well maintained and a new pump was installed last year. We bought a new 10'8" Endeavor inflatable that can go along with the boat. If you ask anyone about buying a Cal, no one will say anything bad about them. Weighs about 8,000, not a flimsy Catalina. I want to see her go to a good home. Contact me if you are interested, open to offers. Rachel (425) 761-3622.
