“Bantry” is a racing sailboat offered for sale with 3 full sets of sails and custom tandem axle trailer.
This excellent racing sloop has a very good racing pedigree and has competed in many races throughout New England. Built in 1985 by Mirage mfg., Gainesville, Florida, “Bantry” is 33’8” overall, with a 10’8” beam and minimum draft of 6’.
The hull is fiberglass with a lead keel and raked, reverse stern. The topsides are Flag Blue, but in poor shape. The decking is light gray on white.

“Bantry” has a 15” folding blade, bronze propeller on a stainless steel 1” shaft. The engine is a single diesel Yanmar 1 cylinder 8hp engine and runs reliably and well. She is fitted with one 8-gallon tank.
The electrical system is simple with 2 12v batteries located in the port and starboard aft quarters.
Rigged with a single aluminum mast with aluminum boom, “Bantry” has good, strong standing rigging of stainless steel rod and spectra/Dacron running rigging.
Deck winches are Lewmar. Spinnaker pole is Carbon Fiber. Additional miscellaneous equipment includes:
Hall Quick Boomvang and
Aluminum, perforated toe rails
Extensive racing sail inventory mostly 2004-2007
“Bantry” has 10 sails to cover all racing and delivery purposes including 3 main sails, 3 spinnakers, 3 genoas, and a blade. The Racing Main and Genoa have had very little use (about 10 races). |
