| Description: |
It is rare that one comes across a yacht of Silver Queen's caliber. The design, workmanship and capabilities of this vessel can not be understated. She is truly world class. Study the pictures and the quality of her welds, the balance and power in her rig. In a world filled with compromise she represents a once in a life time opportunity to own a yacht that knows no boundaries.
She was designed by the incredible Angelo Lavranos and was executed flawlessly in South Africa by Jacon Brothers. Her present owners circumnavigated in their previous boat and choose her with the knowledge and experience obtained from that journey. She then underwent a major refit in 2009 by the renowned Howdy Bailey yard in Norfolk, VA. Her scantlings are in access of Lloyd's and she can be considered a good "icebreaker" for northern cruising. Her design criteria produced a boat that can best be described as fast, modern, voluminous, a world girdling cruiser. She is a "stiff" good all rounder with a great balance of speed, handling and wave penetration. |
| Equipment: |
Her refit in 2009-2012 include but not limited to:
new wiring
new plumbing
new electronics
new deck paint
new hard dodger
new sails
new running and standing rigging
new solar panels
new wind generator
new auto pilot
new life raft
new wind vane
new refrigeration
The deck is uncluttered and designed to be at sea. All lines lead to the protected cockpit for shorthanded safety and convenience. The lazarette is huge and the foot well in the cockpit is deep and secure. Boarding from a dingy is a breeze with the integral swim platform.
The interior is awash with light and airiness. Headroom is well over 6-6 and ports, hatches and dorades are everywhere. Her layout is a masterful blend of form and function. When you see the contained U-shaped galley with the very deep sink on the center line you know from the outset that this boat was meant for the sea. Her aft cabin includes a full sized double berth and her forward cabin is spacious and comfortable. The bulk of the interior is relegated to the huge saloon area. This is a very comfortable and open vessel.
She will be delivered on her own bottom to the Med in late June 2012 and can be taken possession of there for a dream cruise or she could be shipped, sailed or delivered anywhere your cruising plans require.
This is a new listing and more pictures will be added very soon.
