Description: Harrier is a heavily built and commissioned in 1990 by Dr. Hoosen at the Riverside Shipyard in Whangarai New Zealand. In the 90s NZ had a thriving ship building industry and built many fine yachts for the extremes of southern ocean sailing. This is a steel world cruiser rigged for single handed sailing in comfort and safety... Hull: 44' 13m loa 12'6" beam semi finn keel for low drag and underwater hard chine for shoulder stability under sail. Relatively flat hull plates extend from near the bow almost to the transom providing racing sled like performance off the wind... Joe Adams also designed this cruising hull with a high bow and a lot of beautiful sheer. Harrier can be driven hard into a head sea while remaining dry and sea kindly... Steering is provided by a skeg hung rudder and rack and pinion stainless wheel... Large rudder is hung directly behind large 3blade prop for superior handling and backing.. Hull is fitted out in 516 Stainless steel, Bow pulpit, lifelines and stanchions, toe rail ,rub rails, handholds, radar arch are all welded stainless Power: 70hp Ford diesel giving 1200-1500 nautical mile range @ 6-7 knots/h. Harrier will clock 10knots full throttle with a clean bottom...

Equipment: Electronics: Radar Ratheon 32mile gimballed antenna on ss arch to maintain range when under sail... GPS Furuno GP system with cockpit repeater for navigation, speed , tracking Depth sounder Furuno with cockpit repeater w/ alarms Autopilot Simrad /Robertson under deck direct drive interfaced to GPS and navigating at nav station... Harrier can "see" up to 300 meters in front and side while under way...Reef and bottom are visible well before you get there, using the phased array under hull transducer and the Interphase sonar system. Galley area: 3 burner propane Stainless steel gimballed stove with lg. oven Refrigerator stainless steel double wall eutectic. Freezer stainless steel double wall eutectic will hold 150-200 lbs and make ice.. Microwave oven Double stainless steel sink w/ hot and cold pressure water.. More than ample over counter shelves for stowage, 3 pull out drawers for spice silverware etc. Under counter stowage for pots pans and dry goods... Tip out garbage/wast bin under sink.... More to list--------------------- Ground Tackle: Lawarence 6000lb windless 180m 12mm/1/2'' chain This is very heavy duty adds great stability while at anchor... Bruce anchor, this is the style used on the oil rigs Force storm anchor, bury this one deep in the mud for storm anchoring Danforth 2nd backup anchor Safety equipment: 6man life raft Sea anchor and tether Spare anchor lines Storm tri radial mainsail Stern drogue Epirb jack lines Inflatable life vests harness overboard rescue system Equipment: Fleming windvane self steering system Honda 220v 2kw generator Yamaha 15hp outboard Deck mounted air conditioning Forced air cabin heating system Wind generator Spinnaker pole Spares: Starter, alternator ,water pumps belts etc. Full set of sails and running rigging Spare replacement standing rigging.. etc etc etc As you can see selling Harrier is a work in progress. The replacement value for this class of steel cruiser is now well over 500k US (look at Waterline 43). I have yet to fully evaluate the current market to establish "fair value"but would think this will end somewhere above $180K. At the time Ill just say I am Open to offers I am interested that she keep cruising..... My wife says she wants a new Motorhome gerrrrr :)
