The Pekona is very civilized (for a sailing yacht) with it's enclosed pilothouse and perfect for the climate here in the northwest and getting out of the weather with inside and outside helms. Likewise the 16 opening ports and hatches make it suitable for the tropics. He designed it for light commercial (salmon) and extended cruising. The interior is solid oak w/oak and off white Formica. There is no paneling or painted surfaces to ruin the appearance of this yacht. The entire floor is fully carpeted in blue. This boat was built with a dream in mind, completed 12 years ago, never lived on, and rarely used. The working sails have been up 3 times, spinnaker/drifter has never been up. Engine has 350 hours, Gen-set 28 hours.
