| Description: |
My Skipjack 35 is an updated fiberglasss version of the earlier 19th century classic Chesapeake Bay Skipjack ketch. The hull was formed in 1969 and the boat completed and commissioned in 1979.
It has a traditional sailing craft design and is noted for its graceful lines and stability. With centerboard-up, her draft is only 2'6". She has been well maintained and shows pride of ownership. New engine in July 2008 with 287 hours. She has been in severe coastal storms and handles well in rough weather. All soft wood on decks has been removed and decks repaired, all new non-skid and deck paint. All bright work was re-done 2012 with 6 coats of Cetol (3 under coats and 3 high gloss coats). Last hauled out 2011, 3 coats bottom paint, shaft log and cutless bearing serviced. New Westerbeck 2008 with 287 hours to date. Have kept her as a working sail boat, the only lines that run to the cockpit are the Jib lines, all other work has to be done on deck. The swing keel is down and locked in place. There is a ATV power winch to lower and raise the swing keel. She has an on board head. Small galley. Sleeps 6. 30 gallon fresh water, 9 gallon holding tank. Currently adding mast steps to main mast. |
