Description: This Dean 400 is a well cared for and proven cruising catamaran designed by Peter Dean and built by Dean Catamarans of South Africa. Dean Catamarans has been building catamarans for over 20 years and has earned a reputation for building strong, ocean capable yachts and for standing behind their products. The Dean 400 is an extremely roomy and very seaworthy design with high underwing clearance and asymmetrical hulls to minimize pounding. She was sailed from South Africa to the Americas on her own bottom in 1996. The current owners purchased her in 1997 and she has served admirably since then as a safe and comfortable home while cruising the waters and islands from Maine to Venezuela. She has never been chartered.

The Dean 400 sleeps 8 persons in 4 x private staterooms. There are 2 x heads. The galley is "down" in the starboard hull and has open sight lines to the salon. Interior surfaces are finished with a blend of molded fiberglass, oak veneers and solid oak trim.

A dinette area seating 8 x persons around a large table is located in the bridgedeck cabin.

Storage areas are provided beneath the seats and behind the seat backs. The bridgedeck cabin also houses a navigation station with electronics area and chart table.

Steps lead from the bridgedeck cabin to the port and starboard hulls. The sleeping cabins are accessed from the hulls. The two forward staterooms each have a king size berth and the two aft staterooms each have a full si
This yacht has been continuously maintained and upgraded under her owner's stewardship. The galley was rebuilt and upgraded in 2009. New engines, saildrives and saildrive boots were installed in 2010. A new holding tank was installed in 2012. Bottom refurbishment and antifouling has just been completed. The owners are ready to transition to their next adventure and wish to sell their yacht to a new owner who will enjoy her as much as they have.
