2001 Hylas 54 located in Florida for sale

54'1"' Hylas 54

Description: Détente is one of the later model Hylas 54’s with the advantage of the raised salon and larger engine. Her first owner had her built for summer cruising in the Great Lakes for five years and stored her indoors during the winter. In 2005 Détente was sold to the present owners who sailed her through the Great Lakes and the St Lawrence River to the Atlantic Ocean where she cruised for a season in New England before crossing the Atlantic to the Mediterranean.

The Hylas 54 is understandably one of German Frers’ most attractive and successful designs. With generous 15’9” beam, powerful stern section and long waterline she has a spacious three stateroom interior arrangement with large salon and galley and excellent performance. The powerful sailplan is easily managed shorthanded with mainsail and genoa furling and electric sheet winches.

Détente recently returned to the US on a yacht transport from Italy. Upgrades include two new Doyle sails, Furlex 400 staysail furler, Spectra MK 2 watermaker, SeaCAS AIS and Iridium satellite phone. The teak decks were recently refurbished in Turkey and are in very good condition. Additional new equipment and quality maintenance since new assure the next owner a semi-custom, high quality yacht ready for ocean cruising. Détente is now in Ft Lauderdale, FL and available for inspection. We welcome the opportunity to show prospective buyers Détente and her many features that include 3 zone reverse cycle A/C, bow thruster and offshore safety equipment.
