Description: Labeled the MOST EXPENSIVE YACHT of it's size and for it's time. The Mariah Pacific Seacraft is a heavy draft full keel sea going sailing cutter rig.
This is a factory edition, as some were sold as kits.
Layout consists of a large V-berth forward; followed by the head to Port and a hanging locker to starboard; Aft of the head is a double settee salon with a bulkhead mounted dining table; across from this area is a single seating bench; continuing aft on Port side is the galley complete with double sinks and propane stove; On the starboard side is a work counter top with two lids for freezer and fridge, ( presently being used as ice boxes). The heart shaped cockpit area follows to the rear.
The boat is tiller steered, operating a heavy external mounted rudder. A boom gallows has been added, and serves to support a canvas Bimini. Rail mountings at the stern include a Magma BBQ and outboard motor bracket.
Stainless steel rigging has been upgraded. A later engine upgrade to a 3GM30 Yanmar 3 cylinder diesel. Sails were new in 2010, controlled by two Harken furling systems. Navigation includes a Standard Horizon CP175 colour chart plotter and a Simrad Auto Pilot tiller control. Also present are the original Datamarine array of depth and wind instruments. New LCD reading lighting has been installed into the interior along side update halogen ceiling fixtures.
New bow sprit and platform in 2010
New mast compression post and deck pad recored in 2009

Equipment: BOAT IS HAULED AND ON THE HARD UNTIL 1ST MAY 2014, ON THE NORTH SHORES OF LAKE ONTARIO.
The boat is navy blue colour;
the Awlgrip paint was applied many years ago.
Her name is Mermaid ( not registered, just numbered for Ontario);
The engine has 2500 hours; and
was replaced in the late 90's; according to the previous owner.
I purchased this boat in Annapolis Maryland in December 2004.
It had NOT been well cared for, when I found it.
License decals indicated the boat had been off the water since 1998.
The boat is reported to have spent most of it's life
residing at St Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, before returning to Maryland.
I am the second owner.
I have rebuilt the wooden bow sprit and platform
with teak and Honduras Mahogany;
Rot had settled into the sprit, as
often happens when wood is painted.
A new main sail and 140 % Genoa sail were
purchased 2010 ( the stay sail is as purchased and still does the job);
The deck at the mast base has been rebuilt.
A new compression post was replaced in the interior, to support the mast; water intrusion at the mast now drains to the deck through small ports at bottom of mast.
The exterior bright work has been treated and finish restored; some
toe rail abrasions need repaired where pilings have rubbed.
Inside the cabin I have replaced the ceiling material,
trimmed with mahogany striping;
salon cushions have naugahyde type coverings.
Upholstery is sparse, but completed with many cushions.
The cockpit is outfitted with cushions
The cook stove was removed and replaced
with a propane 2 burner PLUS oven unit.
The engine driven refrigeration unit was expired and so
removed. I use ice.
The refrigerator consists of two moulded compartments
- a freezer side and a fridge side;
Thru hull outlets have been replaced;
at engine, galley, and head.
The boat had no 'holding tank',
one has been created;
the thru-hull for waste over board was replaced with a new unit, also.
The head was replaced;
Water pressure and bilge pumps are recent;
as are foot pump at galley and hand pump at head;
as are hoses and sink fixtures;
New stanchions & life lines are being prepared.
The teak & holly flooring is serviceable, but on the list to update;

The hull wetted surface has a tar based coating.
There is no evidence of osmosis.
Decks are sound and dry.
When replacing thru hull openings,
the hull was found to be 5/8 inch thick.
