Description: PRICE REDUCTION!! The Swan 41 was introduced in 1973, and 61 hulls were delivered during a production run that lasted until 1977. Trumpeter is hull no. 33 and has been lovingly maintained by her current owner for the last 18 years. She is in a protected slip in downtown Sausalito that may possibly transfer to a new owner. Equipment: Exterior & Ground Tackle
The hull was peeled and barrier coated in 2006/2007. There is a huge hatch over the forward cabin, which smoked Lexan was recently replaced. Teak planks cover the entire deck and the low-profile cabin trunk. Aft facing hatch over the main cabin. There are 3 cowl vents atop dorade boxes. The toe rail has rounded openings. The companionway has the cockpit aft of it. A mini-dodger for the companionway is in white canvas (needs isinglass). The cockpit has blue cushions, plus a teak table that can be removed and stowed. Ground tackle is a 35# CQR anchor on a chain & rope rode.
Sails & Rigging
A 10-year old Hood mainsail with full battens and a Dutchman flaking system and Harken Battslides. There is a 100% jib on a roller furler and a storm jib. The jib has a self-tacking setup (not rigged). The jib rolls around a Profurl furler. A babystay can also be attached to a foredeck fitting. There are 2 spinnaker poles that fit into a pole guide on the mast. The headstay and backstay (adjustable) are new in 1995. A Garhauer spring-loaded vang supports the boom, while the mast is keel-stepped. A Lewmar traveler sits at the forward end of the cockpit. Lewmar fairlead cars move on stainless steel tracks.
Electronics & Electrical
The electronics gear is original, with an Intech Marine 70 VHF and a Signet log at the nav table and a MXD55 AM/FM/CD player with 2 cabin speakers. In the cockpit, there are a Signet wind speed & direction (inop), Signet analog knotmeter and a digital depth sounder. The circuit panel is at the nav table and (3) Group 27 batteries are charged by a Lewco charger.
Engine & Tankage
The engine is a Perkins 4-108 with 2,367 hours, last serviced (04/2014). A Martec 2-blade folding prop is at the end of the prop shaft. There is a gray-water tank that may possibly be adapted to a black water tank. Hot water is provided through the engine heat exchanger only. The AC water heater is beneath the galley sink (inop).
The interior is well-finished and in great condition. Starting forward, the bow cabin has a 2 pipe berth setup with open storage beneath for lines, sails and other rigging accessories. The chain locker access is through double doors at the foot of the berths. There are two hanging lockers for stowing sailing apparel. The saloon has a drop-leaf center table. There are opposing settees with pilot berths outboard, all with lee cloths. Aft of the settees, the galley is to port and the forward-facing nav table is to starboard. The companionway is between them, with engine access. 4 cabin windows provide light. Aft of the galley through a door is access to the aft cabin. On starboard aft of the nav table is the head, which has a door to the aft cabin also. The head has pressure water plus a foot pump. A mirrored medicine chest and adjacent locker store supplies. The aft cabin has 2 single berths with storage beneath, a center settee and hanging locker. There is a center mirror and a vanity on the aft engine bay bulkhead. 2 opening ports and 2 windows give light and ventilation.
The forward-facing sink has pressure water plus fresh- and salt-water foot pumps. a ENO 3-burner stove with oven. The icebox has a teak shelf, so blocks of ice can be placed beneath.
