1985 TAYANA 37 located in Maryland for sale

37' TAYANA 37

Description: The Wicked Winch has been equipped to sail simply and far, in ease and safety. She requires minimal maintenance, starting with her decks-NO TEAK!!

She has oversized standing rigging. All sails are constructed for cruising, for weather of all types and to last. Sails are hank on; no furling to foul when you need it most. Three reefs in the main, genoa and two jibs. Heavy weather trysail with separate mast track and storm jib. Sails maintained and evaluated by UK Sailmakers.
Running rigging is handled by oversize, self-tailing Lewmar cockpit and cabin top winches (size 30 and 40).
100 gallons of fresh water capacity with foot pumps in galley and head (no pressure pumps to fix, maintain or listen to).
A Cape Horn self-steering wind vane keeps her on her heading to the wind - no electrical components to rely on, replace or rue. Guaranteed for one circumnavigation.
A stern mounted, Furuno radar maximizes range and reduces interference with its gimbaled, Questus mount. Mast-head VHF antenna makes for reliable contact and sits next to the tricolor running/anchor lights.
Oversized ground tackle (250’ of 5/8 BB chain) and rode with mounted Danforth and plow anchor. Anchor bridle included. Simpson-Lawrence two-speed manual windlass mounted at bowsprit.
Mast steps give safe, easy access to the spreaders and above and encourage your use whether doing a rigging check, finding a passage through coral or taking photos of her under self-steering. Through-bolted fittings in cockpit (4) and on deck provide secure points for safety harness clip-on; jacklines included.
The three burner, gimbaled propane stove with oven and rail BBQ offer food prep choices. A well-insulated and spacious icebox provide storage and cooling for a sailor’s needs. Space below has space in every nook and cranny for supplies and gear.
The cabin is amply warmed by the Dickinson propane fireplace with fan option in place but not wired.
Complete self-sufficiency might require a wind generator which was on the owner’s list but, due to simple, low electrical demand, was never required.
