16' Landing School Maine Haven 12 1/2 Joel White Design

Description: http://www.davidjonesclassics.com/sail/3971/annie-2000-haven-12-12-18500/

This fine example of Joel White’s Haven has been professionally tended to over the winter and is considered to be in near pristine condition. In addition to sparkling varnish, topsides and new running rigging, the owner also had the below waterline professionally inspected and undertook all recommended upgrades including replacing two planks, dropping/inspecting the enclosed portion of the centerboard, new caulking where needed and two coats of fresh anti-foul paint so that she is just as sound below the waterline as beautiful above.

This boat design is considered to be on of the best designs of the century: she is stable and stiff in all conditions; responding to her helm like a Ballerina, and in lift to no wind there is no need for auxiliary power. Ideal for the experienced and novice sailor who might be timid; with a ballasted centerboard, she cannot be capsized. She has a large, deep, comfortable cockpit that seats our family and friends in comfort. The rig is small enough for a child to sail the boat, but it is powerful enough to provide very pleasing performance under all typical conditions for the competitive sailor. Indeed the perfect day sailer.
