34' True North 34

Outside United States

Description: GrayLag, a True North 34, is a full keel cutter measuring approximately 41' overall including bowsprit, boomkin and Aries self-steering wind vane. She is stable and seaworthy with a beam of 11’ and a draft of 5' 6" and a classic look complimented by the exterior teak. Designed by Stan Huntingford and built in 1983 in North Vancouver with a fibreglass hull and finished on Vancouver Island, GrayLag has none problems with blistering or the structural issues sometimes found in the Taiwanese built versions.
With a comfortable cruising speed of 6 knots GrayLag is comfortable in any condition and comes with a serious supply of spare parts to provide ease of mind. Easily removable companionway stairs provide excellent access to engine and, through a small door, into the large lazarette area below the cockpit.
Beautifully finished in teak throughout and accompanied by a teak and holly cabin sole, “GrayLag” has a standard True North 34 cabin layout with plentiful handholds throughout. Starting forward is the V-berth with ample storage. Then aft to port is the head with sink and Groco manual head (macerator pump and holding tank just forward of head). There is a sump and a shower would be simple to install but we have never needed one and have preferred to keep the moisture outside. To starboard is a hanging locker. Mid-ship salon with large teak dining table with removable fiddles and small drawer. Starboard settee coverts into bunk with leecloth for comfort and security at sea. Forward facing navigation desk and quarter berth are aft to starboard. To port, U-shaped galley with overhead cabinets, with large freezer and fridge.
Comfortable, bright galley with storage cupboards and handy access to fire extinguisher in case of emergency.
3 burner Force10 gimballed propane stove/ oven (2004/5)
Large top-loading freezer (Novacool) plumbed through to separate large top-loading refrigerator
Stainless steel sink

GrayLag is currently moored in Comox, BC (moorage not included). More pictures available online.
