Description: The Cabo Rico story is one of dedication, hard work & unique circumstance that started many years ago. Cabo Rico yachts are fast yet comfortable underway, safe & amazingly easy to sail. Balancing beautifully in light or heavy air, the hands off tracking ability combines with good pointing & a fine turn of speed.

In the mid 1960s, John Schofield started building sailboats in a little known British Leyland assembly plant in San Jose, Costa Rico. The location provided a blend of talented craftsmen, superb climate conditions & access to the finest teak for yacht construction. In the early 1970s, their first boat was a 36-foot ketch designed by Bill Crealock. In the late 1970s, the 36-foot design became the infamous Cabo Rico 38. In the mid-1980s, two Canadians purchased the company. Their first new design introduced was the 34, a smaller sistership to the 38.
One of the features that set Cabo Rico yachts apart from mainstream boat builders is the level of craftsmanship involved in each hand-made component & in the assembly of the vessel. It is claimed that they spend more time laying up the hull and deck than most builders spend on their entire boat.
There is a pride in workmanship that makes every Cabo Rico that leaves the factory a true piece of art.
Excellence in design, comfort & performance, the Cabo Rico 34 provides for ample comfort & safety throughout. She has an uncluttered deck, spacious cockpit & good stowage. Inside she is surprisingly spacious with two large cabins, good headroom, a large galley & head.
