Doug Peterson designed winning America's Cup boats to the Hans Christian Christina 48/52.
This Serendipity 43 is a combination of his work; racer exterior and spacious warm, salty interior. US built (New Orleans Marine) to a high offshore standard.
24 made, two have enjoyed multi-year circumnavigations. Peregrine 13 and Wings 18 years - please see their amazing,
>20yr blog/logbook: wingssail.blogspot.com). PO took her all over the Pacific.
Cutter rigged and truly lovely to sail in all points and conditions. Noted as the best downwind sailor for the IOR/SORC class and are amazing to windward.
175nm days are very doable and even 200!
Sail double-digits with full canvas or relax with jib or main alone up to 8kts. We have had her up to 13kts in
18-20 w/double reefed main and atn collared cruising spinny.

This particular S43 had an extensive cruising conversion (from a racer, like sisterships Scarlett O'Hara/Wings). Built ahead of their time with kevlar, fiberglass epoxy hulls.

She is very comfortable to cruise or liveaboard with a safe three step ladder, her queen aft cabin, convertible dinette, deep crew berths, spacious electric head, separate shower and tons of storage. Seven have slept aboard, however six is about comfortable.

The single, compact cockpit is ocean passage worthy yet opens up nicely with fold down seats and is sheltered with canvas between her hard bimini and remodeled hard dodger (2016). Open transom makes dinghy boarding and swimming very easy (along with safe MOB retrieval). Flush deck is great for lounging and can hold a large dinghy with room for lots of water toys.

Equipment: Hull Construction:
Kevlar, epoxy, f/g composite.
Strengthened by airex core horizontal and vertical stringers/ribs.
Seven 360 degree bulkheads.
This design is noted for its light weight, strength, flexibility and double digit speeds.
