28' Robert Perry Islander 28

Welcome aboard The Goodbye Look, This 1976 Islander 28 is a fine little masthead sloop designed by Robert H Perry. She has clean contemporary lines that still look good today. It's no wonder Perry has been quoted saying it is one of his favorite designs. This highly rated vessel sails clean, is fast and stable, and sails well in light air.

With an ample cockpit, roomy cabin, and sleeping for 6 she is a great weekend boat or live aboard. 

You will be happy to see that this vessel is equipped with a Westerbeke 12B-Two diesel engine in place of the gas engine. The installation looks professionally done. The engine is clean, starts quickly and runs fantastic. 

We have invested a considerable amount of elbow grease in the vessel. All of the bilge storage compartments have been cleaned and painted, and the Formica counters tops have been resurfaced with tile. In the galley you will find a 2 burner alcohol stove, stainless steel sink, plenty of storage, and an ice box with a shelf for a refrigeration unit. The marine head was removed and replaces with a 5 gallon chemical toilet, which is included with the boat. The boat has also had extensive cleaning and painting in the cabin of this vessel.

This Islander is well equipped, and comes with plenty of accessories to get you sailing right away, that includes 6 sails, a spinnaker pole, 2 winch handles, 3 batteries, battery charger and much, much more. This quick, comfortable coastal cruiser.

INFORMATION ON CONDITION
The overall condition of this vessel is good. The hull is solid, and the the rigging is ready to go. The engine runs very well. Engine hours are unknown, but it was manufactured in 1992. The cabin has received a lot of cleaning, painting, and reconditioning by current owner. There are no unusual odors in the cabin, it's exactly what I expect a boat to smell like. 

The deck does show signs of spending 40 years in the sun, but the structure appears sound and it does not leak rainwater, even in Pacific Northwest.

The vessel is moored on the Columbia River, and the date of last haul out is 2006, she could probably use a bottom cleaning.
