Description:
Best Offer.
Tartan 30C (1976) - Competition version of the Tartan 30 with 3 more mast and 6 more draft and 550 pounds more ballast, set up for racing with special hardware; PHRF = 169 as currently equipped.

A classic and much sought after boat, modeled aesthetically after the Sparkman and Stephens Tartan 34; comfortable, seaworthy, much more solidly built that newer boats; still competitive.

This particular boat was built for a V.P. of Tartan Marine and had some extra nice wood work and such added.

Interior pictures predate refinishing of interior wood and adding of sliding doors of cabinets. Other pictures predate new sails and boom cover, which formerly had blue Sunbrella and now have green Sunbrella.

The bottom was media blasted (walnut shells) this spring (2016), sealed with Pettit Protect Gray High Build Epoxy Barrier Primer Coat (two coats), sanded smooth, then coated with 2 coats of Pettit Vivid antifouling paint. Vivid is a hard but ablative paint -- the best of both worlds -- that remains effective for multiple seasons. The boat will nevertheless include a nearly full gallon of Pettit Vivid for an additional coat at your discretion. The over cost for the new bottom media blasting, epoxy sealing, and antifouling paint -- was about $2000, plus many weekends of grueling labor!
