Description: |
This classic cruiser boasts a beautiful Sky Blue hull color, repainted professionally at Gudzik's Marina in 2014 with Awlgrip paint. The Kalliste was donated to the Stony Brook School in 2011 and, since then, it has been carefully maintained by the marine programs staff and professional contractors. It has been used as a cruising vessel for the school's summer programs and as a learn-to-sail vessel for the novice sail team during the school year. This vessel has only been operated by licensed captains.
This boat is in perfect operating condition and is ready to sail, race, or cruise as is. The sails are in good condition and the engine is in excellent condition. The cabin is mold-free and can comfortably sleep six with a fully functional galley that was upgraded in 1995. Teak has been oiled oiled at least once a year, hull has been compounded and waxed regularly, winches have been opened up and maintenanced recently. This boat is older but it is well-built and well-maintained. There are no major mechanical or structural issues. It has served the program here at the school well but we are replacing it with smaller, more race-oriented boats.
The boat has a shallow draft fin keel with centerboard. Reliable 30B Westerbeke diesel with low hours that was installed in 1993 to replace the original Atomic 4 gasoline engine, twin alternators, dual racors, 450 AH batteries, refrigerator, Force 10 stove/ove, rollerfurler, main, jib, genoa, asymmetric spinnaker, whisker pole, new shaft and dripless stuffing box installed in 1999, Wilcox-Crittenden Skipper head rebuilt in 2003, and many more upgrades that makes this boat very appealing.
