Description: Pearson 323, by renowned naval architect Bill Shaw, has over the years become an American classic. Only two owners since new, "Breath Taking" has always day sailed and cruised on Lake Michigan, no racing. Five sails including full spinnaker and gear, plus a 2007 Harken Roller furling genoa. Autohelm 3000 autopilot and wheel steering.

In 2012, the boat went through a detailed retrofit: The interior was recovered in a dark blue Sunbrella fabric, all interior woodwork was refinished, a new Standard Horizon GPS and linked DSC Radio were installed, along with a helm mounted remote mic and control. The porthole gaskets and windows were replaced, while the Bomar hatches received new arms. A Bluetooth compatible AM/FM radio was installed, with speakers in the cockpit and below deck. The head was rebuilt, along with replacement of the hoses.

Mechanically, all engine cooling, intake and exhaust hoses were replaced, including the stuffing box hose. All deck drain hoses were replaced. The Volvo Penta diesel engine, with only about 1,282 hours, always starts right up, and receives annual maintenance and oil changes. A marine battery charger was installed. A new electric bilge pump and hoses was installed.

Outside on deck, a wheel cover was installed to protect the GPS, drink holder and cockpit table. Both aluminum gas bottles were recertified. In 2013, all the lifelines were replaced. A full size cover for winter storage was made in 2012.
