Consistently maintained and improved US built Doug Peterson. This racer model Serendipity 43 is unique from the rest having had a $150,000 refit/cruising conversion completed in 1995, resembling a Norseman 447 (aft cockpit), DP 42 and Swan 42.

Very comfortable to cruise or liveaboard with a safe three step entry ladder, wide queen aft cabin, convertible dinette,27"6'9"pilot berths, spacious electric head, separate shower and tons of storage. Seven have slept aboard, however six is about comfortable.

The single, compact cockpit is ocean passage worthy yet opens up nicely with fold down seats and is sheltered with canvas between her hard bimini and remodeled hard dodger (2016/2017). The bimini also provides the ability to hang a hammock chair which is great on the hook or underway. Open transom makes dinghy boarding and swimming very easy (plus safe MOB retrieval). The flush fore and side decks are huge, able to hold a large dinghy and 18.6' kayak
(not inc).

A little about the Serendipity 43 history:

Doug Peterson designed winning America's Cup boats to the Hans Christian Christina 48/52. This Serendipity 43 is a combination of his work; racer exterior and spacious warm, teak interior. US built (New Orleans Marine) to a high offshore standard.
A few well known racing sisterships include Scarlett O'Hara, Acadia and Wings. Built ahead of their time with kevlar, fiberglass epoxy hulls.
26 made for crossing and racing oceans. Two have done leisurely circumnavigations: Peregrine (13 yrs) and Wings (18 yrs). Wings may be the longest running blog, beginning in 1986 and currently still winning regattas. wingssail.blogspot.com.

The S43s are noted as the best downwind sailor for the IOR/SORC class and are thoroughbreds to windward.
175nm days are attainable.

Equipment: Hull Construction:
Kevlar, epoxy, f/g composite.
Strengthened by airex core horizontal and vertical stringers/ribs.
Seven 360 degree bulkheads.
This design is noted for its light weight, strength, flexibility and double digit speeds.
