The water lines of the new Grand Soleil 47 arise from the long-established partnership with the Americas Cup designer Marcelino Botin and are the result of the most advanced research in the field of fluid dynamics.
The standard interior layout offers a practical and functional solution with an L shaped galley, three cabins and two heads. Great attention has also been placed on the number of storage compartments and the large chart table that is capable of taking full size paper charts.
The hull shape is streamlined and features contemporary styling details that characterize the entire range. The completely ush decks, wide gunwales, recessed sheets and hidden lines pull together aesthetic elements with practical ergonomic functions.
The hull and deck are built in sandwich construction. The hull is laminated through the process of vacuum-bag infusion, the internal grid pan is made of a composite of carbon and glass bre thus allowing, together with the integrated bulwark, the GS 47 ́ to be stiff and rigid, yet lighter than low tech alternatives. The ef cient T-shape keel, which lowers the center of gravity, ensures maximum safety and comfort when cruising and the best performance while racing.
