2014 Hobie Getaway w/ Trailer

The Getaway has elevated bench seats that makes it far more comfortable than sitting on a tramp. It can hold up 4 people, but I usually single-hand it across the Chesapeake Bay.

The hulls are polyethylene, which is far more forgiving than fiberglass hulls. There's no boom, so no risk of unplanned head injuries during gybes. The jib includes a roller furling system.

This Getaway has been setup to permit a solo sailor to rig, launch, sail, and recover without outside help. It's perfect for those days when you can't find a crew!

Equipment:
The Getaway includes a battery-operated trolling motor that simplifies maneuvering in tight quarters. The motor swivels out of the water when sailing. A custom waterproof battery box is secured in front of the mast on the forward trampoline.

The kit includes a mast-stepping system that allows me to completely rig the boat by myself.

A full-size paddle is secured by a quick-release system that locks in place on the forward tramp.

The back of the trailer automatically pivots down when the boat slides aft, which allows a single person to launch & recover the boat.
