Description: Fiberglass canoe-yawl pocket cruiser, designed by Ted Brewer, built by Marine Concepts (builder of the Sea Pearl 21) in Tarpon Springs, Florida.

Hull/Deck: Fiberglass with end-grain balsa core, solid glass in high-stress areas, in good condition.

Dark blue topsides; bone white deck. Teak cockpit. Boat bottom was painted, new gel coat on topsides and all teak redone in 2011.

Stub keel with lead ballast - Aluminum centerboard, raised via pennant in cockpit. Aluminum pop-up spade rudder, sheathed in fiberglass.

Rig: Yawl-rigged on aluminum spars. CDI flexible furler for jib Main rigged with 2 reefing points, single-line reefing for each and lazy jacks.

2005 Quantum Sails: Standard jib, main and mizzen in white, fair / good condition.

Center boom sheeting to traveler on bridge deck.
Mizzen reefs by rolling around mast, sheets to end of bumkin.

Tiller steered.

Cabin: Designed for cruising for two. From companionway, opposing settees that drop to large double berth. Mid-cabin, 2-burner alcohol stove to port, sink with bronze hand pump to starboard, plumbed to flexible water tank. Portable toilet in bow with curtain for privacy.

General: The Rob Roy 23 was designed as a pocket cruiser for two for coastal cruising. Approximately 90 were built between the mid-1980s and mid-1990s. Construction quality is outstanding with solid teak used on deck for the full rub and toe rails, hand rails and companionway, bowsprit and bumkin; and below for compression mast support and cabin bulkheads/trim. Deck cleats/chocks and opening ports are solid bronze.

Rob Roys have been sailed in the Great Lakes, the Northeast, Pacific Northwest, from Florida to the Bahamas and in UK waters.

The current owners have extensively cruised this boat around Wisconsin, the Great Lakes and a trip down the coast of Texas.

Equipment: Engine: New (2014) electric start outboard Tohatsu 9hp, 4-cycle outboard with high-thrust prop and 6-amp charging alternator with approximately 30 hours. In fixed outboard well in aft cockpit.

Anchor: Danforth and Plow with nylon rode. Marked for every ten feet

Navigation: Bulkhead compass and clinometer in cockpit.
Wet Marine VHF with masthead antenna. Masthead windvane.

Electronics: Running and cabin lights, Depth Finder

Additional equipment: Standard safety equipment. Boat hook. Removable ladder. Custom bimini for cockpit.

Custom winter full boat cover for mast-down on-trailer storage.

Trailer: 1988 double-axel Shoreline trailer with surge brakes and builder-customized bunks. Galvanized frame and fenders with only light surface rust. New (2013) axel, hubs, bearings with protectors, brake assemblies, wheels and tires with approximately 1500 miles since replacement. Working lights. PVC and wood crutch supports for mast transport and raising; PVC supports for main boom and mizzen mast transport. One spare tires. The trailer has carried the boat from Wisconsin to Texas and around the Great Lakes.
