Description: This handsome and proven gaff-rigged topsail schooner was designed by John Alden and built in 1939 at the Goudy and Stevens Boatyard in East Boothbay, Maine. Dirigo II was specifically designed for circumnavigation and to be capable sailing in “any ocean, any weather”. Throughout her life, she has participated in many sailing adventures, races and pleasure cruises around the world, including 2 global circumnavigations. The boat is featured in a novel, “Count the Cats in Zanzibar” by Captain Jim Crawford. Dirigo II has recently undergone a complete restoration and is operated with loving care by her owner. The boat is for charter in the San Juan Islands and throughout the Salish Sea.

Besides Captain and crew quarters, the boat has two private staterooms with “over and under” berths and two Pullman berths in the main salon. With her full galley, hot water shower, spacious cockpit, wide decks with high bulwarks, shes elegant, traditional, comfortable, and sea worthy .
