I've got a classic racing sailboat that is looking for a woodworker to restore her to her former glory!
She is a Lightning Sailboat: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightning_(dinghy)
She is in need of restoration. However, she's got great bones, beautiful cedar wood, bronze hardware, and when restored will be gorgeous.
I bought her thinking that I had a plan and a place to restore her, but life has changed.
Do you want to race? This boat will be fun! Here's some info: http://www.lightningclass.org/
The trailer is included, so you can trailer her to races!
This boat was originally built in 1950. There's some bad areas in a few places, and the boat will need new wood in some places. There's also some good wood in some places, and when refinished it will be beautiful. Overall, a handy woodworker would enjoy this challenge. This boat has some beautiful cedar wood construction! Most of the parts and some sails are included. There are two masts. Got the centerboard. Don't have a rudder. You can build what you need or find parts online.
Come see this great project boat, and come join Mohican Sailing Club and hang out with some good fun people while you restore this boat.
Thanks for looking and have a great day!
