Since we purchased her in 2004 my wife and I have enjoyed Walkabout and all that owning a cruising sailboat involves. We learned how to be competent sailors on beautiful Lake Champlain when we lived on her for days and weeks at a time gunkholing along the Vermont and New York shores. In 2010 we took her south for our first encounter with the ICW and the ocean, to visit the Bahamas. We learned a lot from that trip and in 2013 after outfitting her properly set off to the Caribbean Sea and Grenada. In 2015, after our successful trip I wanted one more, this time to Cuba. However, two years in the Caribbean proved to have been enough for my spouse so I single-handed Walkabout to Cuba (it is possible!) and had adventures of my own. The decision to part with her is not easy but at a certain point in one's life hard choices must be faced. If you think you want a real sea-worthy sailboat, one that you can rely on to get you home, consider Walkabout.
Ta Shing Yachts, is famous for their boat building skills. Walkabout's interior woodwork is cabinet quality, crafted entirely from solid asian teak and hand fitted by artisans.
